It does mix up.... I just put it in a ziplock back to bring it back home. If you do candles there is NO WAY that you will be able to light a candle up there. I bought two huge pillars to light and it was not going to happen. So last minute, Claudia put together the sand ceremony set and gathered sand up for me.. it was beautiful.

ladies i'm swamped at work and still so much to do for the wedding ... just wanted to pop in and say sylvia, your pics and review were fantastic! thanks so much for doing it so quickly that i had a chance to see it. everything was amazingly beautiful and very chic. and your hubby is a hottie too! CONGRATS! wink.gif

phillybride, i've been slapping together the last-minute stuff, so it's not at all what i'd planned, but it's *sort of* getting done. welcome brochure became just a card, that sort of thing. i started packing last night and was amazed at how much crap there is, when i know i made a point of not buying big or heavy things for OOT bags, lol.

i leave saturday!!!!! aaaaaahhhhhh!!!

do not overpack... I lived in three sumnmer dresses and a pareo/cover up all week literally. There is a little shop by the pool that sells cover ups for $11.00 i bought a white one and a black one and i lived in them all week till night, then changed for dinner.... Make sure you take some type of aloe vera for your skin if you burn because the sun is hot hot hot and if you burn you need that to sleep comfortably... Good luck!!

And bty, there were no coco locos available the entire week... No coconuts available... Booooo!! Drinks were kinda watered down also, my guests started to drink cadillac margaritas with an extra shot and that did the trick after the fourth day of being there... Everything else gave everyone the runs. Rofl!!!!!

Would this set be available to everyone because my only problem with the sand ceremony is hauling the vases there??

The Aloe Vera is a MUST.... Everyone will be grateful. lol. Well most of the drinks they had there were like milky, like bahama mamas, mango margaritas blended... anything blended with milk was a nono. lol So get drinks on the rocks without milk. lol Those blended drinks really dont get much alcohol in them so make sure you order double shots on all your drinks. There is a drink in the back bar that is called a spicy mango margarita with salt on the rim... tastes like candy it was soo yummy I loved it but most of my guests drank cadillac margaritas and those were the only ones who were able to get anyone buzzed.

I took candles for my ceremony but Im sure if you take just the sand, Claudia can lend you what she loan me... they were pretty and then you can just bring your sand home in a ziplock bag. I didnt have sand so my color sand was blue... Let me see if I can find a pix and post it

Also, they close the pool at 6pm... they kick everyone out!! But the jacuzzi is open 24 hours.. we did notice that security turned off the heater in the jacuzzi at 12am though to kick us out but we complained and they turned it back on supposedly. Although, the water never got hot again!

Thanks for the heads up on the drinks. i will be sure to throw some money at them to make sure my drinks are potent!

I am so excited to hear that she has a vase there. I will just bring the sand and email her and let her know I will be using it.I did see a picture of the vase in one of your pictures. PERFECT!

I didnt tip my photographer but I did buy her a beautiful Tiffany and Co. Necklace and she absolutely loved it. She wore it the following day to a wedding she attended.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
