1. The place where you were dancing, is that the plaza? If it is, do you think it is better to have the reception at the place you were at or just on the beach?

2. How much did your cake cost? Did you show them a picture of what you wanted, and how many people did it feed?

3. How much is it to have a cocktail reception, and how is it different than just having your guests get drinks from the bars around?
Hey Meghan~

Yes, that's the new plaza. In the slideshow, there is a pic of the whole plaza not decorated. It's a lot bigger than you would think! I think it's the perfect place for a reception! The beach gets very windy.....honestly, it just feels more like a reception at the plaza rather than on the beach.

I can't recall what we paid for the cake. It's in the amenities pkg price for 20-30 people....I just asked for a 3 tier rather than the 2 tier. It was still the same price. I asked for a square cake, but that's what I got! lol It was plenty big.....we had a total of 30 guests and there was a lot of cake left-over.

The cocktail reception is based on how many appetizers you choose. We picked 8 different one's plus the donkey bar. The donkey was a huge hit with all the guests! We had our own private servers and our own private bar. It was set up where we were on the beach and the resort had our area blocked off from other guests. At that time of day, there isn't a bar on the beach, so our guests would have had to walk up to Zocolo to get a drink....

Let me know if you have any other questions!
Thanks,
Tracy

Thanks so much Trayce. So, with the cocktail reception, do you just pay for the appetizers and are drinks included? That seems interesting that they didn't charge you any extra to have a 3 tiered cake than a 2 tiered, because on the spread sheet, a 3 tier is more. Do you know why they didn't charge you extra?

Natalie Ann! Your pics are beautiful. We were in communication back in the Winter when we were planning on Azul Fives and I was needing wedding invites. I decided to have my wedding in the states but am so glad that your wedding turned out to be stunning. Congrats on your marriage!

Hello Everyone-

Although I have not received all of my photos, my amazing photographers Nels and Anna Akerlund sent over a slide show to our first song. Its awesome and I love every picture. My photographers are a husband, wife team who were such a pleasure to have along with us on our weddingmoon. I would highly recommend them to anyone. It was the best decision we made and are so happy with our choice. You can also see some pics of our ceremony set up on the beach at the sensatori and our reception at the new plaza. We were the first to have our reception there:) Some of our TTD photos are included as well. i just want to warn you there is a semi nudi pic but all of our parts are covered. There is a nude resort down the beach and all the girls had a day of pictures and one we were pretending to be on the nude resort. Hope no one is offended. I think they are cute and funny. Enjoy.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
