Yep - Usually (with some exceptions)... Mmmm, let me explain... Look at the post on the iberostar forum I responded to your "fee" questions about $18 per extra 10 people and cocktail hour and etc.... There is always a fee to bring in an outside vendor,$50 for the daypass and $35 for a nightpass. But (alway is a but) since gabriela couldn't do the flowers I wanted or vases or really anything (the wc are quite useless in my opinion) when I asked about any 'charges' for getting an outside florist after a 4 month debate with flowers with her she responded a 1/2 assed email reply and my ta and i took it as a 'no' when she informed me of a charge a month ago, i threw the email back at her and bitched how it was unfair for me to pay for a florist bc it was her mistake and we shouldn't have to pay for their inadequices... Sooooo yes there is a charge but I think if they are'nt capable of doing what we ask there shouldn't be a charge and she complied so if ya are gonna use an outside florist try using that on them and maybe ya can skip the daypass charge?!? As for the makeup artist yes I am paying $50 but it's a deal cuz I should pay $100 since she is coming to the resort 2 different days and I am tired of dealing with retardness at the iberostar, thank goodness we are only 3 weeks away from the wedding and all done planning!!!

Hey, completely off topic I seen gabriela was leaving on the iberostar forum... Do you know when her last day is?

My suggestions is when you are all done planning everything with them through a million different emails send 1 master 'order of events' document in word listing everything (EVERYTHING from a detailed itineray of your arrival to wedding to departure, prices, agreements, setup of tables, a list of everything you want them to do, a cake picture you want, table arrangements, names of outside vendors you have and arrival times, etc.) and have all wedding coordinators and manager signiture and have them fax it back to you (that's what we are in the process of doing so there can be no excuses since we blantely made them sign stating if they screw something up we won't be obligated to pay for that item) plus it's a master document outlining the million emails in 1 document.

I finally found a mua!

Ilka and I communicated over the phone and email. She is incredibly nice and seems like a reliable person to work with! Ultimately, she was out of our budget due to the travel fee (she lives a few hours away from Cancun).

My mua will be Guillermo Flores from Ultrafemme. The bridal package was $300 which includes a trial, wedding day application, eyelash application, touch-up kit and travel fee if you're in the Cancun area. Patricia, the point of contact was really nice and easy to communicate with. Her contact information is: paranguibel@ultrafemme.com.

I am a little nervous, but I think it'll be okay when we have the makeup trial. I guess I'll find out in 11 days! :)

PM me your email address if you would like example pictures I received.

HTH!

He came to the hotel for both days, took so much time to make sure it was exactly what I wanted and the day of the wedding everyone RAVED about how fabulous my hair and make-up turned out. If you have any questions please let me know...but thumbs up all around for Sergio.
I'm so relieved after reading your message! I also booked Sergio as recommended by Casa Magna, but there's almost no mention of him in this forum. I met him in person a week ago when I took a pre-trip to Cancun ... her totally gave me peace of mind! Very professional and affordable!

A friend is getting married on Blue Tulum on July 25th ( she was a swine flu bride from May 2nd) and she is going to have Karla Monforte , she had done her hair and make up several times for other weddings ( she like guest) in Cancun and RM , now she picked here for her wedding and I must say she is not easy to satisfy...

As soon as I get pics from my friends hair/makeup at her wedding I can probably post some for you.. I hope!!!

Hey ladies! I am back from my WONDERFUL wedding!

Just wanted to let you know that I used Norma Zurama from the MAC in Ultrafemme in Cancun, (she was referred to me by my Hilton Wedding Coordinator), and she was AWESOME. I would definitely suggest using her. She gets an A plus in my book. She is nice, speaks English, uses only MAC products, and did an exceptional job. She's really good at responding quickly to emails too. Oh and she did a demo/trial for me for FREE! She charged me $70 for wedding day make-up. She has someone she uses for hair that previously worked at the Manforte salon, but I found out about that too late. Anyway, below is her contact info...good luck ladies!

(For hair, I used Mary from the Hilton Spa). She was very nice, spoke very little English though, and although she didn't mess up my hair completely, I would probably not go to her again. I'm guessing I could find someone who would have done a job I liked better. My hair was pretty basic, half up with curls...and the curls were definitely flat by reception, but I think that was the winds fault, not Mary's.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
