This is actually quite comical...that horrible WC/TA here we had waited so long to get our date, we missed out on the Maya which is where I wanted to have it. Then, I pretty much haven't done anything until now, so no research lost for me. I guess that's good luck on my side.

Sorry for those of you that have spent all this time. I hope the upgrade is worth it though, and I sure hope it's not too crowded!

as far as anything at the del mar or beach everything is closed all restaurants and gazebo's you cannot be on the property (we asked) so as far as the tropical you are s.o.l!
eek! i am so sorry about the reception. Were you already staying at the Grand?

Maya: good thing they said they would shut down the italian rest. for us after they gave us some ham-hock cajun restaurant which i thought was just an insult. The FI isn't on board he wants to cancel (I don't care either way anymore seriously I can't wait for this to all b over with - on the real yo) he isn't digging anything about the maya/lindo we choose the del mar for the wedding BECAUSE of the gazebo. So we are throwing are last hail mary and telling them we want the wedding at the grand now HAHAHA and we are gonna have 5 kids there (this should be good), ohhh and if that wasn't enough they can f-off on daypass charges and we want a discount! Like I said I can careless either way I just want to get married on may 16 i don't care if it's in mexico or the county courthouse down the street... And the real kicker is I ain't even stressed anymore *i think i finally cracked* I was more stressed for the 2 years it took me to plan all this than the 2 weeks it took for all this b.s to come apart (is that crazy maybe i need some couch time anyone know a good shrink? LOL)

As for reyna, she finally called my ta back and actually all the managers and herself are bending over backwards to accomodate us. kinda nice for once! Just as much as they have us by the balls we got them too (since they are dying for any and all business).

so if any of you have any info on the GRAND or LINDO or MAYA... Once, again if you could please shoot it my way at dbellie1414@yahoo.com I will love you long time round eye!

Wow, that is crazy that they are closing all of those properties and upgrading everyone to the Lindo/Maya/Grand.

I am going to check as soon as I get home what info I still have on my computer. I'm afraid that I deleted most of it but it may still be in the good ol' recycle bin.

I was working on my review on the weekend and I vow to have it done by this weekend. I may just be the slowest review writer ever. My apologies for those of you that have been waiting so patiently!

I will check as soon as I get home and will post anything that I have.

I say we set a day and specific time and all do a large shot of Don Julio in honor of the wonderful swine flu media frenzy!! Just this weekend while we were up "getting" my dress, my future FIL was calling for a hurricane while we were down there too!! Too funny how all our minds are on the same track here! Gals, our days will be what we make of them and it sounds like they're all going to be fabulously fun and rememberable!!!

So, my "getting" my dress this weekend wasn't so fun ... actually, a little Bridezilla came out this weekend! I got a call from the bridal store Saturday evening at 4:30 ... half hour before they closed, to confimr my appt to try on my dress Sunday at 12. The gal said, well, it looks like your dress ahsn't arrived yet, so you can try on the sample again! The fumes started flying! They gauranteed me that it would arrive on Friday and I could come in Sat or Sunday to pick it up! Being 5 hours away, my FI and I decided to make a weekend out of it to visit our in-laws, who live an hour away from the store. My mom even took off work to come with us! Needless to say, there have been many phone calls and one face to face visit with the store! As of now, they're talking with a bridal store 15 minutes from our house to arrange for it to be shipped here and the alterations taken care of. The salon will be taking care of every additional expense for this dress. So, unfortunately, I have no pics to share with you ... sad.gif Hopefully in the next few weeks I should though!

I'm about to do our final 4 pages of wedding details! Have some decisions to make! Thanks for all the help to make this process so much easier! If I have any questions ... they'll be coming shortly!

DEEKAN!!!! So glad to see you on here! Hey ... we'd love to have you and Colin join us if you two need a vaca!!! Then you can party with us and get some up front info!! Plus, prices are dropping like mad!!! Murph and Jess got an awesome price, and ours keeps dropping because of getting the insurance for guaranteed lowest price! Awesome to see you leaning towards the Iberostar ... you said yourself they were beautiful!!!

Hey Christy!! Sorry to hear about your dress, it sounds like everyone is dealing with some sort of set back these days. Thanks so much for the invite! We will definitely consider coming if it works out with our schedule. But, if you don't want to have that many people we certainly won't intrude. I'm so excited about our decision to go back to the Iberostar. I actually called there today and supposedly secured my date for next year!! It is so pretty and I know everyone will have a good time.

As for all you ladies who are dealing with these changes you can blame it on THE MEDIA!!! I can't believe the power they have to twist people's thoughts and emotions. Our uneducated society honestly believes these is like the Black Plague or something. My goodness its the freakin flu!! I wish people would just turn off the stupid TV and live their lives without so much fear.

My heart goes out to all of you and I wish you all the best. I would be so upset too. I hope Iberostar helps you all out. Keep us posted, we are cheering for ya!

Actually if you do have the wedding at the Grand, they will not allow kids there... not even on your wedding day. I foreworn guests this if they decided to bring kids and stay at the Lindo/Maya.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
