I am trying to get Moon Palace to answer some questions and I am having a hard time getting a couple questions answered about photography so I figured I would ask here.

I have requested David Pena to be our photography. They have stated they will do what they can but they cannot confirm. We even went back with an second request to take it to the photography manager and they stated they will do all possible to get him but still will not confirm.

Now my question.... We have asked if we can hire him by the hour because we really don't want the packages they offer. Our wedding is at 2:00, then we are thinking we are going to have the meal with our wedding about an hour or so after (after photos) and we are going to do a cocktail hour /reception/dance starting about 6:00. We would like David to take some photos at the meal but we would like him to come back for an hour or two for the reception too. Has anyone done this and paid by the hour? Or do you have to buy packages to get them out?

The sunset around 7:15 and I knew that going in and that is why we wanted to have our family photo session prior to the ceremony otherwise all of the photos would have been in the dusk.
Thanks Camie!

Hi doblavelt! Yes, the dress pressing is part of our package. We signed a contract for what was called the deluxe package back in 2008. It included several things that don't appear to be included now. There are also some things that are included now (gazebo decor and fireworks) that are not in our package so we don't know how those things will work out.

Dress pressing was not part of our package (Classic Catholic) which no longer exists for new brides. I had my dress pressed the day following our arrival day and the price was $50.40 and is charged directly to the credit card you provide to them for incidentals. They deliver the dress directly to your room when its done - so you come back from the pool and viola! There it is!

Hey Tonya!

I think I remember seeing somewhere on the Palace website that it's around 50 dollars. I'm hoping my dress doesn't get too wrinkly on the way down!

On a lighter note - I've started having crazy dreams about the wedding. I've dreamt that I left my dress at home, or other important things...two nights ago I had a reoccuring nightmare that I kept missing my hair appointment! UGH! Only like 2.5 months to go...I hope I stop having crazy dreams!!

Oh, My! It is like those college dreams where you dream your missing your finals or are late or something!! I definitely don't need those!! HA!! I already had my real life night-mare with a custom dress that is STILL being made and had to go buy a second dress to make it stop...... Now I am just hoping to have a very expensive anniversary dress for future use...... if it ends up being beautiful!! My first dress was not white which will help for anniversaries........

I hope the flu news this week is all positive for everyone! We only lost one more set of rooms last week with it! We are sitting at 60 room nights right now and hope this is where it stays!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
