glad i could provide a few laughs. i was really strong until today (i guess because i didn't think there was any way i'd be effected with my wedding still a whole month away), but i kinda unraveled today and needed to laugh badly.
Ah, hope you don't think I was being snotty, I've been teaching all day so I was in teacher-Tracy mode. :)

I keep going back and forth. One minute I'm fine the next I want to cry. Oh well, I think tonight I'll turn off the Internets and settle in for some FI time and concentrate on the joy of the marriage part that comes after all of this. :)

Don't unravel! I like my Lisa sweater.

(ok come on, anyone who doesn't take advantage of that photo op is crazy. we will all remember this for the rest of our lives, and the true story of our weddings wouldn't be complete without a nod to the swine flu. i'm actually considering a pig bride and groom cake topper now! LOL)

Ladies, I watched the news earlier and the Doctor on the news reported that this is a mild strain of the flu and most people who get it are even fine... Med. facilities in Mexico are not as good as the U.S., from what I hear, and Mexico City's population is huge. Also, I did a whole project on how hygiene can become a big problem in Mexico City because of the filthy unerground sewage system... all that said, I really think this will blow over in a week or so... I was talking to a friend last night about it last night and her 20yr old cousing died in a car accident last week and what she said is right, "you need to put things in perspective and be happy for each day. don't let it get to you too much"..... I wish the best for all of us on the forum!

This is so crazy that they are all suspending and cancelling flights til JUNE!!! I could understand a couple weeks but over a month, c'mon!!!! I just read on CNN that Mexico City has closed all venues, they are really trying to nip it in the butt. i really don't think suspending flights will help much! I understand that Mexico is the epicenter, but it spread in Mexico over a week and then has leveled out quite a bit. Its already gone across the US and Canada, i personally don't think suspending flights will do any good. i could see to Mexico city, oh I don't know i'm so frustrated w/ all of this!

Thanks, I appreciate everyones support. This forum is the only thing keeping me going right now. The reason it doesnt look good for May is because there are 26 of us going and no flights have that many free seats. I guess everyone is scrambling and trying to rebook. To make matters worse the company I am travelling with has said absolutely NO REFUNDS, just issuing travel vouchers. If the airline doesnt come up with something I am goingto make it my life mission to ensure no one flies with them again.... so frustrated!

Hi kara, we were date twins... and cancelled as well. So devasted, we are looking at other options but not looking good. And a legal wedding is basically out of the question... so sad.

Hey Ladies!

My wedding is June 15th in Riviera Maya. Although I am also concerned about the swine flu, we just can not panic.

My travel agent just came back from CanCun where she and 25 other agents traveled up and down the coast for business meeting with locals. They stayed in numerous resorts, and they are all healthy and fine.

Although there is reason for concern, please keep in mind that the media blows things way out of proportion.

If you want to feel a little better read the following links:

I hope that the brides coming back from Mexico will give us some insight on how everything went, and Im sure they are all having beautiful enjoyable vacations while all of us at home are freaking out.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
