Do a google search for travel sizes-that is what I did!

She is telling me that anything less just cheapens the fact that these people spent all this time and money to make it to our wedding at a location they probably would have never chosen to go to if it hadn't been for the wedding. Is this normal? Should I be planning on spending a day in Playa del Carmen shopping for Talavera pottery, bottles of tequila, and Cuban cigars? How much am I supposed to be spending on these things? I had planned on including everything that has been discussed and more in our bags, and price is getting out of hand. Am I supposed to be buying everyone presents as wellhuh.gifhuh.gif?
I think it would all depend on how many people are attending the wedding. If there are only a few people attending a personalized gift might not be a bad idea, but if you need to make like 20 or more bags I wouldn't do the personalized gift. I think having a welcome bag with some goodies and a thank-you/welcome letter is gift enough. Lots of people that havent been to a destination wedding haven't even heard of OOT bags and it is a big surprise no matter what is in it. The spending on each bag all depends on what you choose and the deals you find and how many you are planning on making, I find it is easy to get carried away with all the options you have to put in them, the the prices can add up quick. I also think that you shouldn't worry about what your mom said about the fact that people spend all this time and money to go to a place they wouldn't be going to if is was not for your wedding, if they really don't want to attend they don't have to.

We got our Advil at Sam's Club. You can also try stores like Staples or Office Depot they often have the box of 50 travel packs.

That seems like a great price! The knot recently added shot glasses to thier wedding shop but the cheapest ones there are $164.10. The problem is there is a base price for setting up the stamp to personalize it plus the cost of the glasses. I don't think you'll be able to find a place able to do it much cheaper. If you didn't personalize them you could probably cut the cost in half. Good luck!

I did some vista print shirts since they send free ones everyday! I paid $6 (I think) to personalize the back like a jersey w/ a name and big 09 below it.

I really want to do bbeach towels too. I need opinions: wedding logo/ournames vs. paying extra to have each person's name on their towel.
Do you think people will use a towel with our names and wedding date? or should we just do some generic palm trees and Cancun 2009?

What our guests liked:

The OOT bags themselves were used by everyone. It was cool to see "my" bags around the huge resort as that is usually how I recognized our guests from afar!

Our guests also loved the Avon chapstick in SPF 15 I found on ebay for super cheap:

The hibiscus peso/key card holders were an absolute favorite. I ordered them from Oriental Trading Company:

Some Antibacterial lotion from Bath and Body Works (pocket sized):

So I would say for our guests, the simple, more practical things were more of a hit.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
