Thank you for that advice! We are going to end up getting the Gold Wedding Package, because like you said, it has alot of what we need included in it.

I see you are getting married in a couple of weeks at ERC. Are you bringing alot of your own decorations or are you just sticking with what the resort provides? How many guests will be attending your wedding?

If you write a review when you get back, I would be very interested in reading it since I am getting married at the same time next year at ERC!

Best wishes on your upcoming wedding

Yes, we are bringing pretty much all the decor with us, like chair ribbons, rose petals, favor bags, table place cards, chinese paper lanterns. About the lanterns- we are planning to leave them at the resort, so if anyone is interested in using them for their wedding as a decor- make sure to ask Veronica about it. They are cream colored and will have small light bulbs inside, to add extra romantic lighting to the area. It looks amazing on photos and Veronica promised to have them hanged on the ceiling. Just an FYI.

The only decor we're not bringing are table clothes, flowers, etc.

I will definitely write a review and post some photos here after the wedding. I put so much time and effore into organizing this wedding that I'm sure it will be the most beautiful this resort has had yet :) Stay tuned!

Now I definitely cannot wait to see pictures! If you don't mind me asking a couple questions, I was wondering where you found the sashes for the chairs? I have been looking online and haven't been able to find any that are reasonably priced.

Also, do you know where your reception is going to be held? I spoke with Veronica and she said that you make that decision once you arrived for the wedding. Were you able to reserve your space earlier? Is Veronica charging you to set-up the Chinese lanterns?

You mentioned the table place cards as well. Was Veronica able to give you the table arrangement before hand so you could figure out your seating chart or will that be done once you get there?

The rose petals that you are bringing, are those for the ceremony or for decoration at the reception? Are you having your table centerpieces for the reception done through the resort or are you bringing your own?

Sorry, for all of the questions, but you seem to have everything in order and I don't even know where to start!!

-Chair sashes Satin Sash

It is the cheapest here, about $1/per sash and they are pretty. I ordered satin ones in Coral.

-Our reception will be in the Foyer, that is the area near the lobby, it is completely private and closed off. It is an open-air terrace with a view of the beach, but is under a roof so doesn't matter if it rains (God forbid, of coarse :)

You CAN decide on the reception place before, just ask Veronica to send you images of different reception places, but most people have their reception in the Foyer.

-No, Veronica is not charging us to hang the paper lanterns.

-As for seating chart, I made one myself, since I know the table configuration. We will just have one long table for 30, rather than a few round ones. We will give her the seating chart and the place cards so that she puts them on the table according to the chart.

-The rose petals I will use to decorate the aisle for the ceremony, as well as the reception table

-Table centerpieces we are doing at the resort, I dont know how you can bring fresh flowers yourself?? We are just going to have some flower arrangements, as well as candles (small and large) and rose petals.

You have a whole year until your wedding- take it easy, relax, all of these things you can plan within 3 months. So dont worry!

Have you received your refund from your original trip? Just curious to know how long it takes the insurance to refund the money. Was your trip paid in full already?

Thanks!

I had just paid off the trip in full and then within the week did the rebook. According to the vendor it will take 2 to 3 weeks for the refund to take affect. I hope it's soon since I now have both trips booked on the same card with payment to my credit card company coming up.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
