guys just dont understand that although the #1 reason we are doing this is to get married... but DETAILS are soooo important to us brides.. and they just dont get it.. i get the " your missing the point of what the day is all about" like every five minutes.. and im not even asking for much... just a good photographer.. my dress.. which btw cost 1300$ incl alterations!!!.. and i totally made my own necklace for the wedding so that i would save a few bucks... gah!

if only they knew that this is our ONLY day where we are the centre of attraction and get to feel a little like a princess!

Take your to-do list task by task starting with what's most important to you. That way if you start to freak out with time you may disregard less important items. If it's all absolutely necessary, take a deep breath and dive in!

It will all come together.

OMG Marie, you kill me!! I was crying when I was reading your post!!!

Oh so my mom and MOH surprised me today with my shower. OMG they got me good. I had NO idea!!! I've never had anyone throw me a surprise party. Then my mom hired a professional photographer for our AHR and wrote this note in a card that had me in tears. It was so sweet. I said I didn't originally want a shower, since we have had our own home for 9 years. I'm really glad I did get to experience it though. I wouldn't have changed a thing.

So I didn't kill the FI. I explained to him that he wasn't understanding my whole vision of this wedding. So I started showing him some pics on here of brides in a gown, with the DH in a suit with no tie and flip flops. So now he doesn't think it will look retarded. He said we will check it out once he picks up his suit from the tailor.

Congrats all you legal girls!!! bunny_4.gif

Now I need to find a non fruity drink. I'm thinking of finding a flavored vodka that I can mix with sprite or gingerale. Since we going on a cruise, booze isn't included. So we're smuggling our own on, and I rather not have to bring juice and such. I'm game for any suggestions!!!

I can't believe it's around the corner!!! We leave in 19 days!!!

Just checking in on everyone. This weekend was pretty productive and we got a TON of crap marked off the huge to-do list. The reward is a new Desperate Housewives so pretty excited for that.

FI just mentioned to me he thinks that now he wants a sand ceremony. I had mentioned it to him forever ago, and now, 2.5 weeks away, he wants one ;-) So next week we will be in the search for some supplies for that.

Still gotta write the vows, clean and get the music on the IPod. All big-ish things to do. I also want to find a cute dress, spme sperrys and my wedding undies. Which I will do without him. And of course drop some money at MAC :-) All done next weekend while he is at the BBQ. Then I don't have to spend the $$ in front of him.

Otherwise somewhat stress-free!

Here's a scary thought...May is NEXT WEEK!

This weekend was baby weekend. I had a shower on Saturday and my niece's baptism yesterday. So I couldn't do anything. Now I'm sick (and for some reason at work). I think tomorrow is screaming sick day. We meet with the caterer for our pig roast (AHR) on Wednesday evening, my final fitting is Thursday evening, and my shower and bachelorette party are this weekend. While I'm super excited for all of that, when am I going to get things done?!

What's really strange is that FI is usually super responsible. He keeps asking what he can do to help, so I'll tell him a couple things, and then he's just not doing it! Maybe he's stressing more than he's letting on. I feel bad, but I finally snapped at him about it this weekend. We've barely fought about the wedding, so hopefully we won't be arguing a lot over the next couple of weeks.

On a really great note about FI, my two best friends (maid of honor and matron of honor) and one of their sisters are staying over after the bachelorette party on Saturday night. He asked what he can make us for breakfast the next morning. He's so sweet.

Omg, there is just so much to do before I leave. My mom is still working on my dress, I have to find some vows for the sand cermony, figure out how I wanna do my hair for my trail hairdo, this weekend is my bacherlorette party!! And we are still picking out songs for the ipod. Luckily I took off tue-friday next week, then we leave next Thursday!!!

Kristy- i love that your FI asked what to make you and your girls for breakfast. Love that!!

I am feeling like i'm on a rollercoaster. One minute everything is cool and then next my list seems like too much. It's annoying. My sweetie is super helpful when he wants to be- I just have to remind him and he's great.

Almost MAY!! yipee!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
