I'm pretty much waiting til I get there to make all my decisions, but it sounds like I should maybe figure out the music thing.
i didn't think it was worth the expense of a dj for so few people (33 in my case, 4 of them are kids), so we are using a bose ipod docking station. we splurged and bought it, since the sound system cost more than owning something we can use forever! it may prove to be a pain in the ass (switching songs ourselves), but i couldn't rationalize the expense. the biggest issue is with the bose system you can't use a mic. so we have no mic for announcements/speeches. i figure people can just speak up, but there won't be a "grand entrance" and no emcee. sad.gif

Please help!

Cecilia is pushing me get have a wedding date and a contract, else, she will not negotiate on trades. I plan to have my wedding on May 14, 2010, but it may change. I don't want to give her my date and later find out that I can't change it. Are we allow to change our wedding date? I emailed her, but she has not responded.

it is *really* hard to get a date nailed down with them (mostly because they take so long to respond to emails) ... i wouldn't set a date until you know for sure it's the one you want. that said, dates in may (especially weekends) fill up very quickly as it is a popular month for weddings. by the time you decide you want to change your date, other dates may no longer be available. you really can't expect them to negotiate with you without a contract in play though. they are far too busy to waste their time with people who aren't under contract.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
