ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies! I'm very excited to have finally decided on the Royal for our April 2010 wedding. Now to decide the exact date....I swear that I saw eariler in this thread that you DON't have to put a deposit down to book your date at The Royal but now this travel agent I've been working with tells me you do. Hmmmmm, is she being truthful?

Thanks, Kim

Did anyone know that the Royal's Spa ( SpAzul ) is under construction?! (Shay you might need to know this...) I was pissed b/c i was supposed to have a room to change into ( since i am staying at the Gran) but not the case anymore. Michelle my WC said she could find me an area but i don't think i want to chance it. It could be a game time decision when i actually see the space in 2 weeks - yeah!
Well, I don't know what do to b/c my girls have to start having their hair done at 9am!!! my Ceremony isn't until 4pm! Argh - i don't know what to do - help!! I just watne everyone together but I may have to change that...9am is sooo early! I would hate for some girls to get ready at the Gran and some to get ready at the Royal - but I may have to. Unfortunately i think some girls may just decide NOT to get their hair done...which i really don't want to have happen. gerr - why is there only one person who can do updo'shuh.gif
I'm...confused!

Why will you have to be seperated from your girls?

My mom, MIL, MOH and myself are all supposed to have hair and makeup appointments the day of the wedding. Our ceremony is set to begin at 5PM, and although I don't believe our appointment times have been made yet, I figured Lili would take care of it for around 10AM (she said she would make the arrangments for us, as well as the in-suite couples massage for FI and I the afternoon after the wedding). I was under the impression that we could go two at a time for our hair...but...my MOH and I are both having our hair up, and the moms both have short hair, so...perhaps my plan will not stray too much?!

Thanks for the information...I'll try to contact Lili again, to see if there are going to be any problems for us!

Can't wait to meet you Shannon!!!!

Shay -

I would double check b/c i didn't know this was going to be an issue until she gave me the times. Maybe the Royal has more hairstylist ( though that's where I requested our hair get done - SpAzul - but she booked us at the Gran )- so I am not sure. But I also had 10 people to try and fit in...so maybe that's an issue too.

I am still trying to figure it all out. Did Lili tell you where your location was going to be - Michelle asked me where I wanted it - i just told her to pick the best/most private area. Hope it works out I will know in 12 days when i get there!!!!

They will take care of you! I'm sure some brides treat them badly and are rude. (We all know the stresses of wedding planning.) But, I think that if you are kind, you are more likely to get what you want. The WCs know about this website. I'm not sure if they read it... But, trust that they will make your day come together beautifully. When, I think of the time that I spent stressing and (I hate to admit it) crying over the smallest things, I get so mad at myself. I can't get that time back! ENJOY this time. And, soak up every second in PDC. Breathe it in, and enjoy yourself. It is paradise. Ok, I'll get off my soapbox. I'm so excited for y'all! I wish I were doing it again!

I emailed Lili today. I hope she is able to get me some information!

I haven't been asked anything! I've done all the asking, and..."where is my reception going to be held" hasn't been one of them. I've only asked to have it on the beach.

I'm sure it'll all be fine!

Shannon...only 12 days for you...17 for me...OH MY GOD!!!!!

Ok wow this spazul thing has me confused. I am getting married on May 15th and my bridesmaid has been speaking with the hotel to plan a spa day with my friends at the spa on the 13th. She has been speaking to someone at the resort and has not been told of any construction. She has them booking up to 10 girls spa treatments on the day so I have no idea as to what they are planning on doing with my party if they don't have a spa for her to host it athuh.gif?? Did they give you dates as to the remodeling, maybe it would be done the next week (doubtful i would guess) grrrrr.

I think as far as people getting into the hotel restaurants with large groups it is likely not a problem especially if you are willing to wait a bit or go at off peak hours. We have about 50 people so for me, we just wanted to be able to have it set up and reserved and not have the stress or fear of it not working out properly or being unorganized which is why we opted to take it out of the hotel. If you can make it work there then I think its great, we are going to have to spend a chunk of money of taking everyone out when technically their meals are already included into the stay.

My wedding is one month from today, holy hannah its scary how quickly time flies. I am sure that everyone's time is going to fly by so just enjoy this time planning it all and get excited learning about everyone elses wedding as yours will be here before you know it!!!

Can't wait to hear from our new mrs. coming back soon!!

Stephanie and the other brides with far away dates. I just was browsing through some of the other threads and noticed one that was for post wedding blues. A lot of girls who get back from their weddings and have their AHR parties become really depressed (not shocking of course). As I was reading it thought I thought about how you are always feeling like you have so long to wait and I just wanted to tell you to really just enjoy this time, I know if feels like forever away but its going to fly by and suddenly be over as well. The last few months is really when the excitement seems to kick in because you are constantly checking things off your list and counting the weeks :) We are having a short engagement so its much more intense of a time frame than most so this time is really going quick and its been a rough time for us due to so many other obstacles these days but I too know that its going to be over soon and that I will be on here hoping to help the other girls out with whatever knowledge I have gained....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
