Our wedding is Saturday at 2:00 so that is the day we were going to do the reception and then a couple hours later a cocktail hour and dance event.

We were planning on tipping everyone. I think I read about it on TripAdvisor. Someone recommended taking a lot of ones for tipping because it is hard to get change for dollars. We plan on taking a couple hundred ones with us for cleaning staff, bar, dining, etc.

Betsy, Do you mind posting or PMing me with what amount you tipped the WC. This is something I just haven't been able to figure out how much. Even though we haven't started working with one, we know how much they do to make everything so perfect for your wedding day. We were planning on giving her an OOT bag and a Thank You card/money.

Hi everyone,

I just had my beach wedding at the Moon Palace and it was absolutely gorgeous. I am working on my review right now and will post pictures that people took of our wedding with my review. I am taking my time to post the review because nobody has posted a review of a beach wedding, so I want to make it detailed and make sure I post pics. For those that are getting married there, you made an Excellent choice, I checked out many other resorts while there, and this one is absolutely the best for Weddings!! They have a mastery over weddings!

P.S. Tina, I brought my wedding coordinator a welcome gift (Jewelry, and a wedding favor), and on my way out I gave her a card and $60 dollars and two wedding favors for her assistants, I am also going to send her pictures of the table set up that she wanted. I didn't know how much to tip, but it was the only money I had left on my way out, I feel guilty because I wanted to give her more. I also tipped every server at the reception 100 pesos and the DJ 200 pesos each. I also tipped every server at the rehearsal dinner 50 pesos each (there were about 4-5 of them)

Victoria,

I actually used Del Sol Photography, they are outside photographers based out of the Riviera Maya. Their pictures are absolutely gorgeous and they were just voted top 10 photographers in the world!!! They were excellent to work with, they arrived early (both of them Sol and Matt). Sol took pictures of me while I was changing etc and pictures of my dress, shoes, bridesmaids getting ready. Matt took pictures of the groom and groomsmen getting ready. They worked really well together, they are very friendly, and their work speaks for itself. Check them out here: del Sol Photography

I know that the Moon has a no vendor policy, but if they are your guests, i.e. they either purchase a day pass (9 am to 11pm) for 100 bucks around per person, or they stay there for a night, they will not have a problem. I actually got them a room because two photographers were coming and I wanted to make sure that they didn't encounter a problem. If you are getting a pass for your photographers just make sure you give your WC in mexico their name so they don't have a problem getting into the resort etc. My photographers were not harassed and had a good time enjoying the room. We treated them as our guests and had place seatings for them etc.

I didn't want to go with the resort photographer because while their pictures were nice, I liked Del Sol's pictures better, and unlimited pictures, and a slideshow, and 6 hours of coverage in order to cover the getting dressed portion of the wedding.

Anyway, I highly recommend del sol, in fact, I found them in this forum and they have a link here of all of their work at different resorts in the Riviera Maya. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t4276

I honestly can't recommend them enough, they were great, Sol even helped me try to put on my eyelashes LOL

I hope this helps!

Yes I know I have been reading about it and I know it isn't near MOON, but it is very frustrating to hear others concerned-lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
