Hey Liz (Colcuba),

I'm in Calgary as well. Which travel agent did you end up using?

Hi Myen,

I did not use a travel agent since my family is all over the place, Miami, Venezuela and Colombia. Each person has to arrange their own flights. In regards to the hotel, Moon Palace gave me one contact that my guests can work with and a link that they can use if they want to book online.

Hi Ladies!!

My Fi and i just received our wedding contract! I am so excited. We are a step closer. BUT on the contract it says no outside vendors allowed? I thought we were able to hire outside vendors? I am interested in hiring a small mirachi band and prob. more lighting (outdoor wedding -someone suggested that).

Hey Jodimichelle! Congrats on signing your contract- now you can get busy with invites etc... Most of us who are hiring outside vendors are bringing in photographers...MP does have a mariachi band that they use and i've heard good things about them- also the the company that rents the sound system for receptions and ceremonies handles the lighting if you wanted to do more. I think there have been enough good reviews of the mariachi band and the lighting/DJ company to know that you'll prob have a good experience with them...hope that helps!

- oh the other thing is that if you do want to use and outside vendor, most brides have gotten away with it by booking a room for the vendor, that way they will technically be considered a wedding guest. I don't know if that would work for a whole band though if you really didn't want to use MP's band.

Its getting really close to time to leave! Only a little over a month! Really excited although getting a little worried. I read peoples comments on tripadvisor.com before booking and the hotel was gettting really good reviews and ranked really well. As time goes on its dropping in ranks and less positive reviews. Is this making anyone else nervous?

I know that they say the beach is not the pretty blue like other locations but is does anyone know if it is not swimable? I have read the seaweed is a real problem. I was just hoping someone could ease my mind.

Thanks!
The beach isnt the prettiest, and in all reality, I wouldn't swim in the ocean. The entire time we were there (March 29-April 5) they had a red flag out meaning swimming was not permitted.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
