Ocean Turquesa & Coral Brides?

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies,

Had to share the great news!! I came accross an OCT group on Facebook and one of the entertainment guys is in the group and wrote on the wall that there will be a disco opening!! Sounds like they're trying to make it happen for this month.

Hey Map, we had the Cajun Chicken and everyone enjoyed it...It was between that and the steak ..which I heard good things about also.

Ladies, don't be shy to ask as many questions as you want..this site helped calm my nerves before my trip so I am returning the favor.

oh, nevermind, I don't have cajun chicken on my menu...it's called chicken 'new orleans' style...that's the same thing right? (half chicken marinated in honey and mustard, slow cooked...does that sound the same?)

PS. Thank you so much for answering all my questions, I leave in less than a week and I'm getting a little high strung...hehe.

Oh how exciting Map! I'm sure you will have an amazing wedding/vacation :) what are you doing for your reception?

My TA loved the resort! She said the decor/grounds were just beautiful, unfortunately she didn't have time to eat at the restaurants but she did have coffee at the coffee place, which she raved about cuz I guess resorts down there don't usually have coffee places, so that's great for us! And she said Ana is great to work with (in person), although she may be a little slow responding to emails. She was actually suggesting that we have the wedding on the rooftop? terrace of one of the buildings, but we really wanted to have it on the beach... here's a pic if anyone is interested

that would be really nice if they decide to have a disco, hopefully it works out!

Map, Ya it was the Chicken New Orleans.. I just make up my own meals..lol

You will be fine...watch...when you get back you'll tell everyone on here not to be soo stressed because it all comes together nicely once you get there..You will laugh at yourself.LOL I did.

BC..the terrace is a nice area but there's nothing like having the ocean in the background. Hanging out on that terrace after the dinner is a good plan though.

Shelley - do you think that Ana would make us pay extra to have an ipod or DJ (I know the DJ cost is extra for sure) set up on the terrace for a dance after dinner? Just wondering if they'd try to make us rent that space or not?? Is there a bar near by? Ideally, I'd like to set up a reception with music and dancing on this terrace but I'd like to avoid paying for a bar...

If they have to set up tables for you..I am sure there would be a charge. and yes for the DJ. We were there in the middle of March Break with the resort packed and we always had enough tables and chairs to pull together for our group to all be together on the terrace at night. Ana said we can set up anywhere there was room...as long as she didn't have to give us staff. You are right outside the lobby so the bar is right there. I would give one of the waitresses a good tip at the beginning to keep her going out to check on your guests. It's not as formal as a table setup but who cares...when in Mexico right.

There is always something going on at night that your group can join..If you rented a room or paid for a setup..chances are you would loose some ppl anyways to those shows...including yourselves..lol One wedding group that week joined a mexican show by the pool..they were all dancing away and having a blast. We would of joined the beach party on our night..So just go with the flow and make your own party. I wouldn't pay extra. You can put extra money toward other things that are important to you.

Hope this helps, Shelley

Hi!

I am brand new to this site and this is one of two hotels I am considering for my wedding in January 2010. Can any Canadian brides who are booked here give me suggestions for good travel agents in the Vancouver area? All of our quotes have so far been too high!

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
