Nurse2005,

That's awesome...that your TA beat the lowest price on the internet. Most TA I speak to give me the spill about how the internet packages are a different product to group rates. Good work.

I'm in the midst of choosing a photographer. This isn't as easy as I thought it'd be. Slowly but surely...

Your wedding is approaching quickyly! Have you decided on decorations (linen colours, plate colours, flowers, candles, etc), flower, cake, food yet? I wonder if they have different linen colours...I thought I saw green plates and different linen colours in some pictures. I can't believe that we have to rent tealight candles. Are you bringing any of your own decorations? Do you know if you have to pay them in order to use your own stuff?

I forget, where are you having your reception? Are you having a cocktail hour?

Sooo sorry! I was actually replying to Clare when I posted this a week ago! blush2.gif

Anyways, I did get some great pictures from Pri and Amc83, of all 5 restaurants (this really helps you pick one!) and a great lounge place (perfect for cocktail or rehearsal...)

I would be happy to share with you, if you want them just tell me how you want me to send them to you. I think we can send private messages through this web site? Not too sure how to do that yet...

When I told her the rate she forwarded it to the group rate department with Sunwing and they matched it...she never said anything about them not being able to. Overall wasn't thrilled with her though as there were some inconsistencies in things she told me and I ended up losing a $300 deposit so I will definitely not recommend her. And we never got any "extras" some people have said they got some perks, we didn't. She did send a $100 gift certificate for me and my fiance each for a clothing store in town but I think that is some sort of promotional thing with the store.

I have decided on some things. I am going with the ribbons cake and I am getting them to make it a tres leche cake. We are doing the surf and turf at the seafood restaurant. I didn't really love any of the flowers but found a picture that my photographer had on her blog of a bouquet that I like so I just need to email it to Candy and they will see if the florist can do it. I got turquoise chair sashes that I am bringing with for the chairs at the ceremony. Everything else I guess I will just go with the flow and pick when we get there. I will definitely keep you posted with how things go and post some pics and review when we get back.

I have my shower and stagette tomorrow (which I am super excited about) so it is starting to feel really close.

Nurse2005,

How did your shower and stagette go?

Do you have to pay the resort for using your own chair sashes? I was thinking of bringing my own sashes and candles. What cake flavour does the resort offer? Is the surf and turf lobster + steak?

Hi Pribzrl,

WOW, 130pphuh.gif Thats a great rate, every other place I have been looking at is much more expensive. I really dont want to make my guests pay that much. How quickly did they give you this rate? Did you have to wait to x months before the wedding to get the rate locked in? Thanks for any help you can give me!

Hey Jo...my shower and stagette was so much fun, got lots of nice gifts. My bridesmaids kept the whole beach theme and dressed me up ridiculous, but so much fun. They had people come in and airbrush our toes after the gift opening which was fun.

Anyways wedding stuff...she didn't say anything about having to pay to bring my own sashes, when I asked her if they were supplied or if we could bring them she said I would have to bring them. If they will charge to put them on I will just send my little cousins down to tie them on. I think the cake flavours are vanilla, almond or white chocolate can't really remember, we are having a tres leche cake. When I called and asked the said they could make it. And yes the surf and turf is steak and lobster. It was the meal that seemed most accomodating to everyone. Three more weeks, definitelty counting down...just hoping everything I ordered will make it in time. I am waiting for my shoes and personalized cups for everyone down there.

Hi ladies! You all seem to be such a wealth of information!! I think I'll be picking your brains for a little while :)

I just got engaged about 2 weeks ago, and we've decided on BBGE for our wedding. I'm wondering though, if anyone knows about their 'garden' weddings. I've been on trip advisor scoping out reviews and pictures, and I've only seen photos of beach weddings... Any insight?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
