Post all your carry-on questions here * Carry-on wedding dress/luggage

I would have to agree with everyone and say carry it on!!

I'm a flight attendant and when I see someone with a rollerbag & wedding dress I just "don't see it". I mean YOU are getting married!!! Surely they will do everything to help you out!

I would!!!!

I had a carry-on & my dress, which was in a garment bag. It wasn't a problem at all. All of the attendants were extremely helpful. Definitely, definitely take it with you. I don't think I could trust shipping it. I'd be a nervous wreck!

I would carry it on. If you wanted to ship others things, okay but not the DRESS. My friend had to buy a cargo ticket for her drees on Jet blue when she got married in PR. She had her dress next to her the whole time. It was funny she printed out a picture of her face and attach it to the gramet bag. Everyone though it was funny but they were very helpful that I saw.

Ok I called jetblue-the dumb bitch was sooooo flippin rude! I told her I will have a roiller bag and a dress and she says "our policy is only one CARRY ON". I tell her no it isnt it clearly states one carry on and one personal item. She doesnt believe me-puts me on hold and says She says I have to go check-15 minutes on old I hang up so pissed off! What an idiot-how do they even get hired!!!Ughhhhhhhhhhhh

So I drove to the airport-the lady said carry it on and no worries! She said the people on the phone dont know shit! She then marked our reservation that I have a wedding dress and I will be carrying it on! So lets hope I dont get any assh*les on the way and all shall be fine :)

Thanks. Maybe this thread helped someone else as well!!

I am glad that you got everything sorted out at the airport. That is where I would have been checking as along as it is close enough. After all, they are the ones that let you on the plane.

I am so glad that you are going to be carrying it on, I wouldn't trust the mail with my dress, so I wouldn't recommend anyone else do it. That is my opinon anyway!

Hi girls I was doing some research today and found out something wonderful that I wanted to share with all of you. Not even all of the airline personnel are aware of this. But most airlines have a list of things that are except from regular rules! That means we are allowed to bring a wedding dress on board you flight WITH A CARRY-ON piece of luggage. It does not have to count as your carry on!!!!!! Just make sure you go to the airline website and print off their policy and take it with you when you go to the airport. Make sure to keep it handy because chances are they will argue with you about it but if you have the documentation to prove the policy to them they cannot deny you. But knowing that you do not have to give up that extra piece of luggage gives me some peace of mind.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
