Budget Woes - Anyone else worried about this?

Recommended Posts

So we have our budget set, and its such a tight one. As long as nothing comes up between now and the wedding we should be golden. But I get nervous thinking of lifes mishaps between now and than...I know something will come up, and Im worried we wont have enough money by our wedding date.

Im beginning to think we should of prolonged it one more season. confused.gif

I am definitely worried, since I mis-guessed on some of the budget items. So, I'm going over on some estimates, but I have been under budget on others. So, I'm hoping in the end that it balances out. And, that nothing unexpected comes up. Thankfully I only have a few more months, so I can hope there will be no more surprises.

I definitely feel the same way. I feel like I went way over-budget but it balanced out b/c my parents are giving me some money towards the wedding now. BUT - we keep having extra people added on and that is really stressing me out b/c we were barely affording the wedding as it is... I agree it makes me think maybe we should have put off the wedding until the fall just so we could have saved up more money...

I am not getting married till 2010 and have barely started planning yet, but I know that I will feel the same way! We purchased a brand new home in November of 2007 and just moved in last August. With a new house, there is soooo much to do. We have no blinds, no deck, no fence, had to buy some new furniture to actually fill some space ... it seems never ending! I also just bought a new car on the weekend because mine died on me!! Ugh! I suppose all these things are part of real life and everyone makes it work somehow but, some days I wish I could go back to being 19 with not a worry in the world other than when my next paper was due!!!!!!

Staying within budget is definitely a priority for me. There are areas that I am willing to splurge and there are others I am cutting back on. My goal is to get the biggest bang for the buck. It is easy to get carried away with emotions at times and swipe that plastic card.

I am on the same page as all of you. Lifes little worries has already come up twice. I keep telling myself that this will help me keep it simple. When you are paying for the wedding yourselves and still have to accomodate flying across the country for funerals and my car dying... you slowly readjust. Can you spell DIY? How about SALE?

We will get there... all of us!

Hey, both FH and I were laid of 5 & 4 months before our wedding. If anybody can tell you things will still work out, I can. lol

Don't stress about it, things will happen for the bad and things will happen for the good. More good than bad. Trust me.

P.S. We both have jobs now and back on track :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
