Way less expensive and you get the songs you actually like...He is very good, you just tell him when to play each playlist... He stands there the whole entire time, he was pretty much a DJ with our own selection of songs...and he was FREE! =) (Even though the sound system is expensive enough, but hey wink.gif )

oh my lovely Cancun Brides!!!

I have searched for my questions for about an hour and did not see the answers, so I hope this is OK, however if I'm breaking some rule or something let me know!

Planning on a 04/2011 wedding at the Dreams Cancun...questions I have for past and present brides are:

Is there any sort of rental option for Video playback/feed on at the beach at the reception? (for a video montage of the B & G) figure if you can DJ on the beach, there will have to be some sort of outlet system set up.

Wanted to write our own vows, but because I am seeing basically everyone saying they met their minister like that morning wondering if this possible, and if anyone of you Brides did so...we also want the ceremony to be bilingual (we both have Spanish speaking/non-English speaking guests), pretty sure it would be ok but just to check.

Where did you girls have your reception, we'd like it on the beach, by the water, down off the side of the gazebo (as I saw on the Dreams website) but wanted to know if anyone rented the dance fllor and how big and sturdy it actually was...

Thanks in Advance....

and again if I should be posting these questions somewhere else please help out a Newbie and let me know!

If Azucar is actually on Dreams, shouldn't the drinks be included anyways? I think i'm confused!

Also, does anyone know if you can bring your own minister? My Uncle is a minister and I would rather have him perform the ceremony, would feel more special than some random person I hadn't met before, but I don't want to ask him until i know they will let him do it, and I don't want to ask the WC, because i'm afraid if I ask them we will get wires crossed and they will think I have my own minister even if it doesn't work out with my uncle...the language barrier is a struggle :-/

azucar is kinda outside but connected to dreams, like that restaurant poloma bonita, so it's not actually part of the resort. the resort gives you complimentary admission and two free drinks there (and according to these girls you can get that every day). i plan on just drinking at the resort before/after going to azucar so as not to spend money unnecessarily.

ask if you can bring your own minister first. if she says yes, then ask your uncle right away and make sure he's a definite. if it doesn't work out with your uncle i'm sure she can get a minister for you as long as you're able to give her a little bit of notice. getting the judge would definitely be more difficult. if i had a relative who was a minister i would definitely want to use them over a stranger. the best ceremonies i've witnessed are the ones where the person performing the ceremony knows the couple personally. much more meaningful and sweet.

Thanks! And thanks everyone that replied. You are sooo right! I don't know why I'm getting so crazy over this. You're right-I'm waiting until the May & June brides write their reviews. I need to just chill out {wooosaaah}

Hi ladies,

I was wondering if anyone has used an outside florist to get their centerpieces delivered to the hotel? I was quoted $150.00 for each centerpiece at Dreams but I found a florist who can do the same exact piece for $60.00.

Do you all think this would be possible? Or would Claudia have a problem with it?

I emailed her like 30 good questions, so as soon as she responds I will post them here for everyone to read!!

just wanted to share the current price list for excursions through dreams, attached. (seems like you can get almost all of these cheaper through other companies!)

also, the dreams delphinus dolphin experience went up $10 ... it's now $159.

i have the spa prices too, but uploading the attachment for that keeps failing. sad.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
