Moon Palace 2008 & 2009 Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I was planning on bringing my own chair bows but I wonder what they have for decorations and what the prices are... I really don't want to pack anything more then I have to. Does anyone have any recent linen, cake, flower and decoration catalogue that they can post?

Thanks again.

Our TTD photographer picked a spot for us. If you ask yours they may have a favorite place for shoots. We're meeting ours at the Plaza Forum so I'm not sure where we're going to be.

Who is your photographer and are you doing a different photographer for TTD than your wedding? Just curious. I'm looking for someone to do TTD only.

How do you get around the outside vendor policy? I found a photog that I LOVE and he is available for my date. But I don't want to put down a deposit and find out that the resort won't allow him on the premises! The policy states:

Outside vendor services (photography, florists, décor companies, audio visual companies, entertainers, etc.) are not permitted on premises. Palace Resorts will provide our couples with a variety of in-house services to choose from.

Can you give me some tips on how to get around this? Do I need to pretend he's my long lost uncle or something? LOL
To get around their outside vendor policy, you have to book a room for your photog. In our case, we hired Tamm's Photography and our package includes full day coverage and a trash the dress session the next day. The resort requires a min 1 night stay, however because we were having 2 day coverage, our photographer required us to book 2 nights. Marlyn from the Miami office confirmed that all was kosher and that it did not conflict with their vendor policy as the photog would be considered as a guest

I'm using Cecilia Dumas. She's got some great pictures on her website and she's been very nice in all of our correspondence.

Hi jlwedding! Sorry my response is so late, I just finally logged on to BDW. Our photographer who took our engagement photos is Cooper Carras and he is based in San Francisco Bay Area, CA. Unfortunately he is not going to Cancun with us.

MP is flexible with outside photographers as long as they are part of the wedding party. Cooper Carras does a lot of destination wedding. if you are interested, here's his website: Destination wedding photographer - Cooper Carras. highly recommended and so easy to work with! he takes fab pictures! =)

good luck!

my sweetie says it's cool, Because we have 35 people coming so far so were gonna have do five "Cause we have 5 more guest with flights" tables w/ 8 people at each table. So that's only $300 for 1 extra hour for 40 guest. My wedding is at 6pm so we will only need 1hr because the resort ends out door functions at 10 10:30ish,so that's all will need. After I read your mail I spoke with Nancy so she gave me the cost for the dancers
over the phone. We also disgusted a few more details but I told her How much I trust her
and some things can wait until I arrive. I'm going to land in cancun on Apirl 23 at noon.
The resort had put the free shuttle vouchers in our contract so the shuttle will meet us and my guest when ever they arrive at the airport.
I was talking about the slide show i was doing a few threads ago but because my reception is outside they don't set the slidshow up outside. Then I was going to do it at the rehersal dinner Nacny and I talked on the phone about it But i would have to have my dinner in one of the reception halls in order to show the slideshow. If I get 75 room nites then I'll do that because it's free, But for now our slideshow is going to be on the table as favors for each guest. We made sure to include everyone in the Family & Friends section so they will enjoy it. I booked our rehersal dinner in the brizilian resturant
it has an out door terrace area the Nancy says is just beautiful and private so we don't have to sit with the other vactioners while we dine.Cool.

Well good luck honey your going to look beautiful. I would like to post some pick so you can see me also, what's the secret on that? Oh and let me know when the big day is.
Best Wishes God Bless Katt.

Hello Ladies!!

It has been awhile since I have been on this site and I am not sure if I had read it somewhere on this thread, but I was wondering if anyone has had a band for their wedding or is planning on having a band for their wedding? Can anyone recommend a Mexican band?

Just yesterday I went to a bridal show...and the event was mostly for those who are planning their wedding back in the states... flowers, Limo, Djs and bands....I went there mostly to get ideas. Anyway..I was watching one band, and they were amazing. Of course they performed with their entire band (10 person band) but they did a great job. So now I am "thinking" of having a small band.

Please let me know!

Jodi

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
