Jewish Brides at Dreams Cancun

Has any Jewish bride had a ceremony at Dreams? If so, did you bring your own Rabbi with you or do you have one I can contact that lives in Mexico?

Also, I was thinking that if I have my Ketubah here I'd at least want my symbolic ceremony to be more Jewishy and incorporate some Jewish values. Has anyone written their own ceremony for Dreams' minister to read that doesn't include like the Christian/Catholic stuff?

if you are doing a symbolic ceremony they supply a "non-denominational minister" (pretty sure that still means christian tho). i'm certain that you'd be able to bring your own rabbi (BYOR, lol), but the ceremony would still not be considered a legal ceremony, as only the ones performed by the judge are legal. are you doing the legal part at home beforehand?

we are getting married at home first with a rabbi and then doing a "symbolic" ceremony down in Mexico. I really wanted a rabbi to marry us, but I couldn't afford to pay for another person (we paid for a few of our guests to come)

I am thinking about bringing my Ketubah down there just for show though

no matter which ceremony you do, dreams allows you to add readings/poems and/or sand ceremony, so you can customize it a bit (in the case of legal ceremony, the WC told me i would have to have someone else read the sand ceremony because the judge won't do it). i think others have written their own entire symbolic ceremony for the minister to read, but you'd be taking a chance on how good their english is! it's probably safer to get a friend or family member to read stuff, plus it's a good way to include someone else who is special to you in your day.

Hey guys! Thanks for all your help <3 We're having a ketubah here and getting married legally before the wedding to make things easier. I started looking for non-religious, modern ceremonies and found some beautiful ones. I'll also do the sand ceremony. My fiance said NO MATTER WHAT he wants to step on the glass and have everyone yell Mazel Tov at the wedding lol so we're gna figure how to fit that in

I couldn't afford to fly my rabbi down for the Cabo wedding and when I made all the reservations etc it never really occurred to me that there wouldn't be any rabbis in cabo to do my wedding. So my fiance and I are having a very small religious ceremony in Dallas with our Rabbi (just immidiate family and bridal party) with champagne and cake after. In cabo we decided to do a symbolic ceremony that I will be writing. I thought it would be so much more personal to have close friends and family actively participate and have the officiant really just be a "master of ceremony" calling people up and saying as little as possible haha.
