My Experience with [photog named removed]

Heather, I think it's wonderful that you have finally decided to post an honest review on this photographer. I think it's absolutely terrible that a vendor would put added stress on you. You might as well have the stress of photographing your own wedding then. That's ridiculous.

I'm very glad that you switched photographers, and I think that money lost will be considered money well spent to get out of that situation.

Again, I'm sorry you had to deal with that, but thank you SO much for being so honest and up front for other BDW brides. That is, after all, what we are all here for... advice and information.

if [photographer name removed] has a problem with reading peoples comments about her personality and how she handles herself professionally, then maybe she needs to take a good long look in her mental mirror and figure out how to take amazing compliments about her work mixed with honest reviews about her professionalism.

heather, there is nothing legal she can do. you are allowed to freely say how you feel about something that happened to you, and it is a matter of your opinion. if this review stops another DW bride who reads this from hiring [photographer name removed] , then maybe that should be a point to [photographer name removed] to re-align her professional manner with what DW brides are looking for in a photog.
Well said Abbie!

It truly is a shame that some people can't handle the negative criticisms...sometimes the truth hurts you know?

Hmmm...if that's the case, shouldn't all those people who leave their opinions on tripadvisor be getting sued too??

RIDICULOUS!!!!
Ditto. Ditto.

as for my own $0.02. i find it entertaining that a 'professional' can't handle any criticism. ummm hello - not everyone is always happy with you and when multiple people (this photog has had multiple unhappy customers) say the same thing - well honey it's time to take a big fat look in the fucking mirror KWIM?

and legal action? slander? ROFL smile120.gif
then tripadvisor wouldn't exist. reviews are not slander.

what an idiot!

stfu.gif and take a course on "interpersonal communication"

Ok, I had to LOL @ this. rofl.gif

I like to call it "The Power of the FORUM" muscle.gif

If you are nice, helpful and play by the rules this site can do AMAZING things for a vendor's business. Likewise, if you do not play by the rules and act in a negative manner it can drastically hurt your business. In fact, I *just* told this to a vendor who is currently in the process of joining (I recommended it to her because I like her work and she has been pleasant to work with).

This is a powerful place/group, like it or not! You will receive back what you put out 10,000x (or however many members we have on here! cheesy.gif).

Oh, and Heather - KUDOS to you, doll for sticking to your guns. You're leading the way! It is SO important to receive honest and thoughtful reviews, whatever they may be.

ha! you're welcome. the whole thing is just beyond soooo stupid.

all that matters is you are going to have an awesome wedding and now have a great photog who won't treat you like a 5th grade bully AND Morgan hooked you up with 3 nights. all good :)

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard!! She (the photographer) is by far the most juvenille, unprofessional, horrid cow I've ever heard of! She has no concept of reality or of what legal action entails. Frankly she can't do anything! You gave an honest review and while I respect that you wanted to take her name off Heather, you really didn't have to. She couldn't do anything. Legally she can't sue someone who had a bad experience with her and shared it on a PUBLIC forum! grrr she angers me! I can't believe she had the nerve to threaten you!!!!

This is crazy, if you are going to work with people you have to understand that not everyone is going to like you. Plus, there is this little thing called freedom of speech and if someone has a bad experience it's going to get out there is no reason the name needs to be remove that's bull***t. She is going to sue you for reviewing her professional work, maybe you should sue her for harrassment.

But anywho, thanks for the honest review, sorry you had to deal with that. It's great that we have this forum to help each other out so things like this don't happen to everyone.

Good luck finding a new photographer and I hope have great pics to show us when you get back.

She is batshit insane!!! Does she seriously think she can sue you? Any lawyer would tell her she does not have a case. She was your vendor and you posted your review of her, that is not against the law! She is a moron who is pissed because she can't be on this forum anymore for breaking the rules. Vendors have to take criticism, that is how you get better and learn from your mistakes. I hope no one on this forum ever uses her again.

Wow...I had no idea all this was going on!!

I don't know where I've been...stuck in the subscribed threads I guess!! lol

Like all the other girls, I'm sorry you are having to deal with this added stress. It sure does suck! But you know, they say everything happens for a reason!! I believe that you are going to have the most AMAZING photos!! And make sure you post them ALL OVER BDW so this unnamed photographer has a good look at the amazing wedding she did not get to shoot!!

smile03.gif for Morgan. You are truly amazing!!! If there were more people in the world like you it would be a much better place!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
