Uhh Need to Vent, My FI hasn't asked his GM to be in the wedding!

So I am so frustrated! My FI has not asked his brother and Best Bud to be in our wedding yet to be his groomsmen! I have asked him a few times and he says he is waiting for the right moment and wants it to be special! Well we are 4 months out!

ok, so this is his 2nd marriage and they were in his first wedding, but come on! I asked him today and he said, I will, I will! Well, I am just annoyed and need to vent. He thinks they already know, and maybe they do, but it still annoys me that it is not finalized! They are already booked for our MX wedding and all, but I am just thinking this is so weird and I don't get it!

It just makes me feel awkward that his GM might not know they are in the wedding, what if they think, "hmm, maybe we are not." It just seems silly he is waiting for the right moment and I found the right moment over 3 months ago!

Oh! I totally know what you mean. I couldn't wait to tell my BMs and MOHs, but John is all "Yeah, I think I mentioned it to them." I think it has to do with the way guys (or at least my guy) typically plan their time together. "Hey man, wanna hang out tonight? I'm getting married. Maybe we can grab a beer afterwards."

You know guys are crazy, their bnding and stuff is totally different fom our, so he's probably just going to throw it out there at some point. Try not to stress yourself, atleast you know they are going so they just need to get attire and fall in line!

Been there! FI just asked his BM last week. He always said oh i will, i will.... he never would. Finally while his cousing (BM) was over one night I said oh Joe have you asked him yet in front of him and he said oh no, will you be my BM. I know he wanted special, but it just wasnt happening so now we're good!

LOL, I feel for you!! FI just asked his last week...wedding is the beginning of June! Quite a ways back a friend of his brothers was asking him if he was BM and his brother responded "I don't even know if I'm in the wedding!" I felt so bad but this was something I was leaving entirely up to FI! Don't get me wrong, I got on his case...but it still took months. Good luck! Hopefully he asks them soon!!

I don't know why guys do this?!?!

FI lagged on asking my last two cousins to be his groomsmen -- why? I have no idea. I even told him just to shoot em an email, but his said he wanted to ask them in person, mind you one of them lives in NY, so of course I was like...um ok. huh.gif Well about 2 weeks ago he finally asked them after my many requests, thankfully both cousins were honored he asked.

But like I said, guys are weirdos, lol. What can I say, they're all the same ~ strange in their ways, but we love them regardless rolleyes.gif

it took my FI about 3 months after asking to actually get a yes out of his third GM...I kept asking, "has he given you an answer" and kept getting the "I forgot to ask again" response...this particular friend even spent a week at our house over Christmas and not once did it come up.

The kicker was when he finally said yes, he asked my FI to be in his wedding as well! Men...

When my FI asked one of his friends to be a GM, he gave a non-committal answer like "A wedding in Mexico sounds like fun!" I'm thinking to myself "Is that a yes? Is that a maybe?" But, I think it's guyspeak for I'm too cool to actually say the word yes.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
