Post here if you are getting married in Jamaica

Recommended Posts

We are thinking of changing our wedding resort to Iberostar Grand. We will be there in April to check it out. We already booked our honeymoon for Moon Dance Villas moondanceresorts.com. It is on 7 mile beach in Negril and is a private villa, very different atmosphere than the AI resorts. We already visted the property back in OCT and it was PERFECT for a honeymoon!!!!

Hi,

My fiance and I want to get married in Jamaica, but we are debating between MoBay, Negril, and Ochos Rios. Some of our guests are likely to make a three day weekend out of the wedding, so MoBay may make the most sense in order to minimize travel time. That said, we are curious if people think that Negril and Ochos Rios are worth the extra time that it would take our guests to get there. Any thoughts are much appreciated!

Thanks,

Nelly

Hi, All

Name: Tanya (FI-Rodney)

Wedding location-Sunset Jamaica Grande Ocho Rios

Wedding-August 1, 2009

In-7/29/2009-8/8/2009

I must say my only problem with this area of the forum is that there are not a lot of brides getting married at other locations besides the RIU, not hating, just that all of the info relates only to that hotel and leaves me with not much information to help me. Besides that I love this place, everyone is nice.

I completely agree with you- I'm getting married at Sandals Grande ocho Rios and I thought that was a popular location, but now I can only find a few posts about this resort...bummer.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
