They are the only one's bringing kids which is why we chose this resort over the El Dorado.... To make a long story even longer, they procrastinated and now the resort is BOOKED!!!! Are there any brides blocking rooms where the block might lift for MAY 7-12 OR 6-13 OR ANYTHING!!! HELP!!!! They are booked the 7-9th and our wedding is the 9th. Any help or room changes would be greatly appreciated.

Also, Are any of your guests staying at other resorts and getting day passes? If so what does that consist of and do you have resort reccomendations that will take kids near byhuh.gif??
The hotel is booked for our wedding too (all days around 5/24). We're trying to get the guests who didn't confirm yet at either Azul Beach or Paradisus. And anyone who can stay at adults only at Silversands - its right next door. Sorry, I feel for you! I'm sure it will all work out though.

I'm so torn on what to do. Apparently we are 12 people too short to have Zocallo (min. of 50). The other wedding is using the Plaza Deck. We were offered the beach as our option for our dinner and reception. I really don't want to be in the sand all day, we would have to rent the dance floor and additional lighting, I assume. I also get eaten alive by sand flies/mosquitos at night every time I go to Mexico. I asked about any poolside areas and Tiffany said those were for cocktail receptions only. The other option I can think of is the inside banquet rooms.

So what should we do?

We are of course going to talk to the on site coordinators upon our arrival about having it at Zocallo, but according to Tiffany Karisma won't let her book it.

Any suggestionshuh.gif??

JHarwood2Be - we had the same issue at Azul Beach where we wanted the terrace and Tiffany told us it couldnt be done and our only option was the beach...which like you i really didnt want. I basically didnt let the issue go and kept asking her and wrote some pretty heart felt emails about how much it would meant to us, ect ect and eventually we got it! My advice is to tell her exactly how you feel and she may be able to get for you :) Good luck!!!

Are you talking about the area attached to the restaurant outside? I love Azul Beach! How many people were you off by?

I really don't see why it matters to the resort so much. Everyone has already paid regardless of where they will be eating dinner in the evening, so it's not like they'll be losing money by closing down an area of a restaurant.

I am also confused b/c I have the zocallo booked and I have 48 guests. I was nervous that it would be too small but I liked the intimate setting better than the plaza. At 50 guest others were telling me it would be tight so I am wondering why she's telling you there needs to be at least 50. Perhaps you could tell her you will pay for a $12 meal for the other 12 non existant guests if you really have your heart set on it. It would be worth it. They nickle and dime us so much that at this point I think "what's another $1-200" to make it perfect. She seems to give in more when you keep on her about importance etc... Good luck. smile29.gif

Yes Im talking about the area attached to the restaurant outside :) They told us we would need a minimum of 50 guests...BUT its so stupid b/c 50 is the max wedding guests they allow at Azul Beach so we were like WTF - but ya i basically emailed Tiffany a few times pouring my heart out and she got us the Terrace so DONT GIVE UP!! We have 34 guests so we are off by like the same amount as you guys are.

Hi ladies...up until recently I've been wanting my dinner/reception on the beach...but I'm starting to question myself on this now! Is anyone else having a beach reception? Does anyone know about the actual location on the beach they use for the set up and if it's at all sheltered a bit from the wind?

And to all those past brides, what flavour of cake did you have? I'm leaning towards Hazelnut...has anyone tried it and if so what did you think?

Rtswan...the $12 meal is on page 26 of the Event Kit...Menus 1A & 1B to choose from. We are going to go with Menu 1A and change the soup to a salad.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
