Calling all November 2009 Brides!

Recommended Posts

Hello--haven't posted on this thread for about a month because I didn't have much progress until now--so excited (even though I've only made a few baby steps). Here's what I have so far:

1. Going to PV on Thursday for a few days to meet with my WC, sign the contract for her services and put my deposit down for her and the villa for the reception. Will also take a tour of the villa and church in Nuevo Vallarta, and restaurant choices for the welcome dinner/rehearsal dinner.

2. booked the church with a 4pm ceremony time :)

3. booked a villa for myself and my family for our accommodations.

4. have vendors in mind for the caterer and photographer (actually my WC has a vendor in mind for the caterer--I'm just going to go with it since the person comes highly recommended).

5. went for my first dress hunt yesterday and, after trying on 12 dresses in 2 salons, I fell in love with a stunning Amsale dress! I think I'm going to have a dressmaker replicate it otherwise the dress would take up half my budget!smile41.gif

6. Magnet STDs are in hand and stuffed into shimmery, pale gold envelopes, and stamps purchased. Just need to clean up my address list so I can print out the labels and send the STDs out this week before I leave for PV on Thursday. I'll try to post a pic of my STDs sometime this week.

7. Wedding website is up.

8. Added a few things on to my wedding registry. Will add more closer to the date.

9. Groom/groomsmen outfits decided: khaki linen suits and crisp white linen guyabera shirts for the ceremony. Jackets will be removed for the reception.

9. Oh and I finally settled on November 6th as my wedding date...just having that settled on takes a huge load off my shoulders!

That's about it as of today...more to come!

Congratulations to all of you on the progress you've made so far with your weddings! Everyone seems to be making good time with their plans!

Hi Erika - I actually haven't gone into the stores yet to physically pick and scan my registry items...I just did a few online so I have something in my registry for early gift givers. Don't want to add anything that'll be discontinued in the next few months (I have that kind of luck). I'll probably take your advice though once I do go into the stores. I can see how it can get overwhelming!

November 6th! Excellent choice wink.gif

Yes, most of the places we registered email you when something discontinues. So I just log on online remove it and add something else. So it works out well.

I did get a free gifts at crate and barrel and macy's.[/QUOT

Nice! In that case, I'll probably plan our store trip a little sooner than planned.

Free gifts at Crate and Barrel and Macy's? Cool! I didn't see that when I first created my accounts. Is it something they offer only when you do your registry in person?

I signed up on line and then went in to san 80% of the stuff. And when I checked in they gave me the gifts. Tote from Macy's and a heart shaped bowl form Crate and Barrel. nothing big, but a nice gesture. I also opened a macy's account becaues the give you %5 credit of every dollar someone spends on your registry as store credit.

Hello All,

Sorry, I've been off line for a while...so much to do with school, work, wedding...shots.gifwow

Well, I am happy to report that I found my wedding dress!! I went from not having anything planned to things falling into place! I have booked the date for November 14, 2009 at Catalonia Riviera Maya and the Private reception right on the beach is also booked. I have ordered one of my wedding favors, it's the sand and seashells in the bottle with our names engraved on it and I am now looking for a second favor being that the bottles will be one per couple...I a trying to choose between a beach wedding themed candle or luggage tags....What do you guys think??

Has anyone used/booked a travel agent?? I am on the prowl for one and seem to be leaning towards one of the TA's on this site (with the FI approval of course msnwink.gif )

Happy Planning!!

Lani- Could you give us more info on your STD's? I am doing all that now and I'm kind of stuck-- there are so many options! Who did you get them through? Pics would be awesome! Thanks, jo

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
