Hmmm, not 100% certain but I'd bet they'd be fine with the cute kinds that girls wear. The guys I saw being denied entry were wearing the rubber kind...

Hello All,

Invites went out last week! Can't wait for June! Thought it would be best to get them out early so people have a chance to plan their trips. :) We inclued a list of restaurants and hotel info with the invite. It also included dress code info for the restaurants. As of right now we have 30 family members all on the same flight! Should be a fun flight!

Has anyone planned there rehearsal dinner yet? I like the idea of having a bon fire, but not to sure how to go about it. Do I just let the WC know? Do they set up the rehearsal?

I am trying to figure out what I want to use as centerpieces. Any ideas. Wedding colors are red, pink and orange. Was planning on keeping it simple, but not sure what to do.

Thanks for all the help! This website rocks!

Gaby :)

For Gaby, yes just let your planner know about your bonfire wish. Whether she

sets up your rehearsal dinner depends on the arrangement you have with her.

And regarding the centerpieces, one nice thing to keep in mind is that the tall bases allow people to see each other, snap photos, and talk without an obstacle in the way.

Good luck and congratulations!

Joel

  • 2 weeks later...

We had a bonfire a few weeks ago (March 6th) and loved it. My husband had put together a slide show and they even had a big screen for us to play it on out in the sand. The actual fire was much smaller than we had imagined (which may just be because I went to Texas A&M and am used to bonfires on a much larger scale!). If I had to do it over, I would do it again. It was one of my most favorite parts of the weekend.

I hopefully will have my detailed review posted soon.

Good luck!

Brice

For you ladies getting married around November, what kinds of rates are you getting?! all the travel agents I have spoke too are quoting way higher than I expected. I finally had West jet Vacations quote me $1675.00 including GST, which was great and almost half of the other travel providers but they dont offer groups to Cabo and then can only do a max. of 10 rooms. I pretty much have to cover the entire cost to hold them and all my guests would be on their own for doing the bookings. I am getting so frusterated, I thought it would be easy to find someone to look after the bookings for all my guests and I would have to be doing all the chasing and hunting down all the information.

We used Wright Travel Agency who was able to match prices several of the guests found on travelocity. I believe per person it was around $1200 for Wed thru Sun. I would probably not book rooms if I had it to do over again, because even though we had a block, our guests were spread out all over the resort depending on what times they arrived and we ended up doing the wedding ceremony a la carte.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
