Massage Hut Ceremony

I emailed Anabel and Landy regarding having our ceremony under the massage hut with Max and I and the officient under the hut and the guests on the outside and Anabel's response was and I quote, "We donâ€t have that ceremony."

So, we are having the traditional beach ceremony near the seaside grill!

haha, what a funny answer. you may want to try again once you get there. I know I found Landy to be totally flexible. One downside of having your ceremony there is that it's right in the middle of the beach, so you'd have a lot more pepole around, and for walking down the aisle too, you would be in the middle of a bunch of stuff. Just a thought.

Hi ya'll! So I had a question for those of you that have gotten married at Dreams Tulum...I currently have the Ultimate package and don't want the videography portion, but rather exchange that for a 1 or 2 hour TTD session...so I emailed Anabel about this exchange and she said that the policies don't allow this exchange.

Have any of ya'll been able to exchange this?

Thank you in advance!

I don't know if they are trying to rip me off but they quoted $12 each for the Tiffany chairshuh.gif Did anyone else get a quote for the Tiffany chairs for 2009? That's like double the price!! How did it get from $6 to $12? I don't get it...

jmb0902 - I would suggest phoning the resort to try talking to them. I am surprised they can only offer you 12pm. If they only allow 2 weddings per day (although sometimes it's 3, maybe due to previous bookings before the new policy) I don't see why yours has to be at noon. Other brides here have gotten married with another wedding being only an hour before/after theirs. So I guess the problem has to do with the judge's availability rather than with the resort's availability. But if you call them you can make sure that in fact there is nothing else available. I know I requested 4pm, and they said I could have 5pm (which I thought was too late). In subsequent emails I found out that 4pm was available, the reason they said 5pm is because I had asked for "approx 4pm" and they thought 5pm was better so they suggested 5! Thank goodness that got cleared up. Anyways, keep trying. But I can see how the judge's availability would be very limited for the Saturday of thanksgiving weekend.

Hi there!

My wedding date is getting closer now...just 5 months away! I'm trying to figure out some of the details like the flowers and cake. I've looked at the flower options offered in the guide and didn't really find anything I liked.

Does anyone know what flowers will be available in July or how I can find out this info? I'd like green Orchids if possible but I have no idea what the choices or cost would be? Any advice is appreciated!

That does seem like a big increase

I did a search trying to figure out where I got the 12$ from (I thought maybe I had done a typo) it's from Neen's Q&A session with Landy several months ago

So I'm not sure if that's the price that Can't Wait paid or not. I did a search through her review but she doesn't mention it.

HI there. SOmeone asked about the lighting for a beach reception- Anabel finally responded. See below:

HI Anabel:

I will be arriving at Dreams this Thursday. I wanted to ask you 1 question about the lighting. What kind of lighting will you have for the beach reception?

Anabel: Weâ€ll set up a reflect for illuminate the beach.

Also what is the best way to make payment to you when we arrive? Cashiers Check? Credit Card? Pesos?

Anabel: The exchange rates is high so maybe is convenient pay in dollars or with credit card but we have to apply the charge in pesos so maybe is not good for you for the exchange rates.

Also I have children at the reception and want to know how much you charge for childrens meals?

Anabel: 20dlls for kidâ€s menu.

Can anyone tell me how they dealet with the payments? Thank YOU

I leave Thursday for Dreams.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Thank you so much!!
Hey,
We had our reception on the beach next to the massage hut. We brought paper lanterns (10small white, 5 large pink, 5 large orange) for lighting around the dance floor. The dance floor was $700, the fee for hanging the lanterns was $150. They also placed tiki torches around but I wasn't charged for that. Our band, Kiko and Carlos band(highly reccomend! $950/ 45min set but they played for 3 1/2 hrs with only 1 break) has there own lighting system with colored lights that also helped with lighting. We had three floating candle center pieces with orchads in the water to help with lighting($60/table).
You can see our pics Craig Wolfrom :: Wedding Photography :: Idaho, California, Mexico, and Beyond. You'll have to scroll down past his more recent weddings. If you want to see every single pic(there are a ton!) you can go to Craig Wolfrom Photography look for Sarah and Scott. Our password is Chicago. I would also highly reccomend our photographer. We payed for his regular fee and room. He said he'd stay for as long as we would like for the same fee. He was perfect and very talented!
They will bring a mic and speaker on the beach for $150. They have an IPOD hookup available.
If you have any other questions feel free to PM me. Enjoy!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
