RYDM-The cahirs are $1 but the cover and the ties are $2. If they are the metal ones-then we would have to pay for the cover and fee.

Has anyone gotten any response from anyone at MDC in the last week?

Sparkles & Claudette-I know I am a little late-but I love your websites. They have such great information.

Have Valentine's Day everyone!

Still no response from MDC but I got another quick reply from Margaret Myrie about some cake choices I sent her. She responded with a huge email that not only gave me the pricing on about 10 cakes I sent her but also what flavors she has for her cakes and what the prices would be if I wanted extra flowers added to the cake.

And her cake prices weren't at all crazy--some were even cheaper then what I had been planning on paying if I had the wedding here in Virginia.

They ranged from $200-$400 (the $400 one is very intricate and detailed and I was not surprised by how much it cost---of course it's my favorite also---I have expensive taste apparently! rofl.gif

Claudette - I emailed Tai Flora like a week ego….well…..i called them first and the girl i talked to said i should email Kyan at sales@tiaflora.com but i haven't heard from her yet. Please let me know if you have any luck getting a hold of 'em. As for the chairs, i thought their website said $1/chair? I really want the wooden white ones cuz MDV only has the metal folded ones. Oneika, said she has vendors that she can recommend for the wooden white ones. I bet they charge more than $1...
Hey rydm,

I haven't heard back yet from Tai Flora but I had only emailed them yesterday...although it's not a good sign if you haven't heard from them!

With regards to the chairs, what Mastistyle said is correct - they also do have wooden chairs for $2 each according to Kerry but I still have not yet seen what those look like. Here's what she wrote to me about the chairs:

Chair - We have chairs for rental at a cost of $2.00 each. We also have tie back and chair covers for rental at $2.00 each. We have wooden chairs ($2 each) that do not require chair covers and tie back and we have metal folding chairs ($1 each).

It's confusing the way she writes it, but basically it's $3 for the metal chair with chair covers and tie backs and $2 for the wooden chairs.

Hope that helps! :)

Hey Mastistyle!

Thank you so much for the compliment! I worked hard of the wedding website - it was really the only thing I felt I could go forward with after the disaster with the wedding planning in Mexico! :)

The last time I heard from Kerry was on February 6th. I also heard from Randy, the owner who assured me that Kerry was very good at her job and basically made excuses for her not getting back to me sooner...something about it works better when the coordinator contacts the bride in spurts?! Didn't make any sense and seemed like an excuse to me!

I know I am so late in the planning but I finally got my save the dates out and I'm so happy about that! :) Next stop, invitations!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!!

The floral and cake vendors have been LOVELY to email with. I get a response within hours, the longest it took to get a response was overnight.

Seriously, should I be worriedhuh.gif
Hey Taovandel!

I think we're dealing with a bit of growing pains mixed in with island time - I think they're busy with a lot of Valentine weddings/honeymooners right now and I'm hoping we'll get some answers afterwards.

I must say though that without this website I think I would have pulled out a long time ago! But with our recommendations/suggestions of vendors, I think we serve as our own wedding coordinator and we do a much better job than Kerry could ever do! :) I know I still have a ton of things to do, but it'll get done, with or without Kerry!

I was talking to my mom about all of this and we are hoping that it's just sporadic because my date is really far away. And once it gets closer (1-2 Months away) then the emails will be quicker and more informed.

I would think that they must get the same questions over and over again and could just compile a quick FAQ for brides and just send that off when the wedding is booked. Would save everyone a lot of time.

Hello MDC Brides,

I haven't been here in a while, a lot going on so much so that we are changing our date. We will probably do next year right after the high season. With that being said I am counting on all of you for good information!

I know how controlling and inpatient I can be at times so I can imagine the stress some of you are feeling. What I will say is that reading a lot of information on destination weddings all of the information said that Island people are on different time, meaning they get around to things when they do. Now I hope that the WC at MDC is good and does a good job but right now she just may be operating on Island time. Try not to stress ladies, we have to look fabulous on our big day, we're all in this together! smile03.gif

HAPPY VALENTINE"S DAY!!!

I spoke to Kerry for the first time about a week ago. They are thin staffed and seem to operate on a what's coming up next. Which I think is good ... when my wedding is a month away I want their full attention!

I know that it is frustrating, but I think in the end we'll all get what we want!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
