Moon Palace 2008 & 2009 Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Lawie - I did. I was actually assigned an onsite WC waaaayyyy out. Months ago. And she NEVER responded to me. I sent her several emails, and then finally started issuing ultimatums about calling if I didn't hear from her within a certain period of time. I never heard from her, so I finally just called...and found out she was on vacation for the next two months. I was peeeeevved!

They had someone else email me with answers to my questions, so I've just kept emailing her instead of my original assigned WC - I still haven't heard anything from her anyways. I just wanted a freakin price list.

It is frustrating about the 90/30 days thing. When I first started all this, it was 90 days, but now everything says 30. I just pestered my Miami contact for price lists enough that she referred me on to the onsite WC. It's hard to budget when you don't have that stuff.

Lawie,

I was originally assigned to Yudelka out of Miami and one day I emailed her a couple questions and suddenly I was hooked up with Pilar who is the supervisor of the WCs out of MP. I haven't had any correspondence from anyone out of Miami since Yudelka's departure. Pilar assisted me with getting the big ticket items booked (reception area, cocktail hour, etc) and answered my questions as they came up. She will not be my WC as the date gets closer. So like you, I am "patiently" waiting for my new WC assignment.

I've never actually picked up the phone and called anyone. I wouldn't even know what the phone numbers are. Maybe that's not such a good thing?!?!?

Who are you getting emails from with dates changing? I assume you are referring to the date as to when you will be assigned a WC. If you are getting emails from someone in Miami, I'd recommend sending an email with a couple questions, maybe about pricing or options as to where you can have your reception/wedding dinner and hope that she forwards you on to someone at MP. I think this is the approach most on this forum have taken to get a WC (myself included). Sorry, no easy answer with this one sad.gif

I got my save-the-dates in the other day and finished mailing them all out! I also ordered my invites and they are being printed!! Our group contract is also completed and ready to accept reservations. I finally feel like this is really happening!!

Do you girls know when the optional services need to be paid in full? My WC referred me to another girl but she hasn't emailed me back in awhile. No help at all!! We need to purchase some services since we went with the free package. Anyone know if we can bring in our own flowers?? I know it says no outside florists but the flowers they offer are a little pricey!! What photo package is everyone going with?

Good luck with the WC. My wedding is 3 months away and they told me I wouldn't get my WC assigned to me until 30 days before!!! We actually bought one of their wedding packages, so some of the flowers, etc are included. However, I'm not happy with the cake that is included, do you know how to find out about outside vendors? The flower price list I have provided by MP, their flowers are VERY expensive! The photo package I have is included, unfortunately, it's not enough and I will need to try and find an outside photographer. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hey! Congrats on getting your STDs out- my TA e-mailed me saying that someone has already inquired, so I'm starting to get super excited too!
So, what I think they do for the optional packages is that some items have to be reserved beforehand, but they don't deal with your invoice until you go down there and meet with your wedding coordinator to go over the final decisions. For outside vendors- I'm pretty sure that they mean that you can't bring anyone onto the property to provide a service, but if you buy flowers there or bring silk flowers (which I am doing) there's no problem there...

Hello,

Optional services are charged to your hotel bill and paid upon your departure. Our entire wedding bill was paid at check-out (not sure if this is standard though - each WC may do it differently) I would verify this with your WC.

You will need to provide a credit card upon check-in (I had mine blocked so that no charges would go through until I approved - as items will be charged during your stay - so contact your credit card company)

Flowers - so worth going with MP florist - fresh & beautiful! You will need to watch bringing 'plants-flowers' into the country as there are laws on that.

We purchased the Deluxe Wedding Package - totally worth it! Consider what you are going to add as most additions end up totalling the package price.

Ours included photography - but we hired two destination wedding photographers (wicked). Seeing as photog was in our package we used this for a Welcome Dinner & had a photographer join us.

As well, we also paid the extra for a private wedding reception - so we used the dinner in the package as the welcome dinner.

Consider that you are going away & people are joining you - splurge a little (nothing like joining a destination wedding with no flare) believe me there is no comparison.

Wishing you all the best!

Thank you! I miss MP and all of our guests so much!

It was truly a magical experience.

Being an event planner business owner at home - I am now planning many MP weddings - it has been terrific.

Looks as though I maybe representing Signature at some of the Palace locations as well!

I am happy to take on more contracts if there are any brides out there who requires my assistance.

Best of Luck!!
Laura

Congrats!

You will love, love MP!

Cake - let me set your mind at ease . .

We purchased the deluxe wedding package (top package) and we were not too keen on the cake (too small) - so we were provided a binder of options during our meeting (have your WC email you the PPT slide show of some of your options ahead of time)

We knew ahead of time which one we wanted - we selected the Beach Themed cake (not sureof the exact 'name') - it was an additional $210.00 Totally worth it!

I would not suggest using an outside vendor - the MP has many options and some good price ranges.

Best of Luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
