Hi Ladies!!! I have tried REALLY hard to use the search function and have been reading an immense amounts of posts, but I have been soarly unsuccessful in finding pictures of a wedding at Dreams that was actually on the Beach vs. in the Gazebo. Can anyone help? Or even if you have pictures of the potential location- that would be great, too!!!

Also, does anyone know if there is an additional cost for a beach set up vs. the gazebo? Thank you in advance!!!!

from their FAQ page:

If we want our wedding on the beach, how is it set up?

The beach set up consists of a ceremonial table and chairs all with white covers.

that sounds like something along the lines of a decorated arch would be at an additional cost. and just like the gazebo location, things like flowers, tulle, chair bows, or other decor also come at a price.

found these on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rpslee/...7613014256500/

oh, and it seems like it's the preferred tower beach.

You have to go with what YOU want and not what is expected of you its not a normal wedding so you don't need to do normal things at it if you see what I mean lol smile03.gif

I do see what you mean! I keep trying to make everyone happy! I thought a destination wedding is supposed to be less stressful and I am more stressed because everyone has opinions on what we should do. I was thinking we would still take them for dinner too and pay for them.. ya but if I offer to pay for drinks (knowing the fam and friends) we would be over the budget!

Yeah, I got that all the time. Random old people always said that to me. Dreams is really safe though. I never felt scared at all.

I hear ya girl!!!
Unfortunately, the person who is giving me the most grief about how dangerous mexico is, is my dad!!! I am about to knock him out!! Last year he read a story about a wedding in Cabo San Lucas while the guests were at the wedding they stole all her their stuff...My FI owns a company that installs cameras so we told him we would install a camera for him in his room so he could watch his stuff! He said not to worry that he would just bring his suitcase to the wedding...over my dead body!!!! LOL!!

I have been there several times. I have never felt unsafe. Cancun is one of the most commercialized parts of mexico. You should always be careful if you wander off into strange areas no matter what country you are in. There are plenty of places in my own town I would not wander off into.

Yeah it was at the start for me until I said right look if you don't like our decisions don't come but its sod all to do with you what we chose to do. You'd bitch if we did it at home about something so stfu.gif lmao that did the trick. I wouldn't pay for their drinks if they are going to take the mick like we aren't lol

I have been to Cancun before (mind you it was 2005) but it was perfectly safe. Honestly it feels like you are almost in Florida or something.. it is not very Mexican at all.. and most of the stores/ restaurants are things that you would find in America. If people that are complaining about how unsafe it is, remind them of this. This is one of the reasons we chose Cancun because my FI stepmom had been to the Mayan and felt it was unsafe.. I have been to Jamaica, Hawaii and other parts of Mexico and I felt probably the most safe in Cancun even compared to Honolulu in parts..

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
