FYI, I got an email from Gabriela at the Del Mar today, and if you're having a private reception at the Tropical Restaurant for more than 10 people, you need to keep track of what your guests order for dinner. We're given the option of either grouper or steak, so I emailed her to find out if we need to keep track of exactly who orders what or just how many orders of each there are total. She told me that before arriving, they'll just need to know how many orders total, but on the day of the wedding, they need to know who ordered what. She recommended having place cards with different colors that indicate what they ordered. I had never even thought about doing something like that, so I thought you girls would be interested in that!

As far as the resort, I'm doing the beach ceremony, cocktail party (need more details on that one), dinner at the Steakhouse and then party at the Vitrales room. As far as flowers, decorations etc., I still have no idea!! How's your planning going?

I've received a picture of the steakhouse & the vitrales room (and pictures of the optional decorations available for the room - at an extra cost), the restaurant menus, the information on the convention center (at one point I thought I would have more than 45 people) & the flower options. And I think that's about it. The rest of my info has come from our fabulous Michelle :)
Can you tell me about Vitrales room. Is it at Lindo. I am at Del Mar and didn't hear that from WC as a option, just the steak house. May I ask what kind of info you put on boarding pass, I was thinking of doing same. Would you post a pic? Thanks

I am having my reception at the Tropical Restaurant as well. I was under the impression that you had to pick the steak or grouper for everyone. I thought groups more than 25 people had one choice only?

That's not what I've been told throughout the booking process. Reyna sent me a menu for groups of 25 or more in the Tropical Restaurant and it included 2 options. I can email it to you if you want! If I understand her email correctly, small groups only have one option while larger groups have two choices. Not sure what the logic is behind that, but I've copied and pasted her email so you can see.

A far the menu, before you arriving I only need to know how many people will eat option one and two. The wedding day we need to know how is the people with Skirt steak and Grouper for dinner , so I recommend you bring a place cards with different color or something to put on the table so we can know the differences, is you have a small group (donâ€t larger than 10 pax) with one option itâ€s not necessary … You can let me know before dinner.

Actually, instead of emailing it, I've attached the menu here.

The Vitrales room is for Lindo/Maya weddings. I don't have a color pic of the boarding passes, but I do have a b&w pdf file with the ones I did. I'll attach it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
