Wedding Time Freakout!!!

Recommended Posts

So after its all been insane and we have our time - I find out that the sun setting at 6:40pm and our wedding starting at 6pm is a bad idea because it will be dark for our pictures -- have asked Riu for a earlier time (online is shows they have the 4pm open) and they are saying there is no earlier time...ARG!!! So whats the advicehuh.gif

toby, can the photographer take all the bride and her family/BMs pics and groom and his family/groomsman pics before the ceremony.

that way when you get to the ceremony you just need to mainly take pics of you two...

also, could dreams not even bump you up 1/2 an hour?

i got married in may at 6pm but the sun did set later but we had soooo much time to take pics that we didnt get any sunset pics which i am still sad about because we were too early and i didnt want to leave during the reception.

rebecca and her DH took pics before the wedding and they were fabulous.

I would also try to see if they can bump up your ceremony time. If it starts at 6 and lasts 20 minutes, you don't have much time for pics after.

We're doing some before pics, just so we aren't so rushed at before the reception. But it sounds like you're going to be really rushed, especially without before pics.

Did you talk to someone at the Riu? Did you ask if they have other weddings on that day in your location? I can't imagine that they would have so many weddings that they couldn't be flexible with the start time of your ceremony, especially given set-up and break down time of the area. If I were you, I think I'd get a little more persistent...uh, even maybe politely demanding.

I asked for an earlier time again from Riu and asked them for either the four pm wedding time or even just an extra half an hour or 15 minutes would make a difference... and I also emailed Juan and asked him what he thought...I would hope that they would be accomodating and I definitely want some sunset pictures...the only pictures I didn't want ( which is why i picked the 6pm slot) are the pictures where the bride is wincing in the sunlight during her ceremony...lol...cross your fingers and hope it works out...all bumps in the road...

"side note: Bryan (FI) is so sweet..he says although he would have liked the walk down the aisle to be the first glimpse of me in my wedding finery, he will be just as excited to see me before the wedding for picures...too cute...

Hmm Tpoby well I guess I would be freaking out in your shoes too!! I'm suprised Riu is being such a tight ass with it too. I'll cross my fingers and hopefully Tammy can smooth talk them. Even 20 minutes would make a difference.

Hope for the best!

If you can't change the time I would recommend doing your photos before. We did, and it was one of the best decisions that we made!
What was your time schedule - in terms of time for photos before the ceremony and after? TIA... :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
