No TA can guarantee that will not happen.
yes, that's something totally different.... i didn't touch on that subject with my TA. in essence that truly can happen at any resort, i think the more we complain the more they will have to scrutinize their management and the people they are hiring. at least i hope.

I just got an email from a contact at Karisma that says "everything is looking really good and we have reinforced staff to ensure all the issues are solved immediately". I had sent an email to her with the link to the tripadvisor "live report" thread voicing my concerns about the theft and security etc. I'm going to be chatting with her next week so I will try and get some concrete answers on what's being done specifically to fix the issues. I'll keep you posted!

I to received an email from Karisma, and we're setting up a phone call with someone next wwek. Let's hope it settles some issues. I think they're starting to see how serious many of these problems are. Fingers crossed.

Ok, I am getting really worried...I am wondering if I should change resorts? I have not heard from anyone in I don't know how long, and all of you guys have the same worries (that is a lot of us and it is freaking me out YIKES!!!)

I know that Mexicanbridewithquestions (Abby) has switched, is there anyone else that is feeling the same way and really looking into some place else?

I guess you could call me lucky...my date isn't until next November, so I have a year for all the problems to be solved. I know there are a lot of you who don't have that luxury and are really concerned. I am hoping what we've been reading on tripadvisor are isolated incidents and now that they've been brought to upper management's attention, they are looking into it more seriously. That is the impression I get, and when I talk to Karisma this week I will be quite firm about getting some answers for us all. I have a feeling that one of the "kinks" that is needing attention is the staff, and I really don't think that Karisma as a solid hotel chain can afford to keep anyone around in any of their hotels that causes their guests to be concerned, especially for their own safety. I will definitely address this issue with Karisma. From what I've read on tripadvisor, the hotel is losing a lot of business right now from the postings (it sounds like a LOT of people are switching last minute) and with the economy the way it is right now and into the unseeable future, they are going to have to kick it up a few notches if the hotel is to be profitable. My guess is that we will see some serious changes in the next month. Fingers crossed.

As soon as I get off the phone with Karisma I'll let you know what I learned!

I have been feeling the same way. I really don't know what we are going to do yet. But I just sent an email to my TA and to Tiffany, asking about switching to another resort. I just want to know of all of my options. I really am just hoping that everything will get better at the Sensatori, but on the other hand I feel like it is a gamble. This is seriously stressful! I am a pretty laid back bride, and haven't been concentrating on all of the negative reviews, but they just keep coming. I just want it all to work out for all of us!!

I've been just observing these posts for a while and trip advisor as well and I have decided to stick with this resort. I think we might be jumping the gun. I have been to this area of Mexico 8 times in the last 10 years and I've stayed at 3,4 and 5 star all-inclusive resorts. There's never been a trip where we haven't had a single problem and they are always out of our control. I've had salt water come out of my shower, gotten a little sick from food, flooded a bathroom, lost my drivers license, had a purse stolen...the list goes on and on.... but I still love Mexico more than anyplace I've ever been... IT'S MEXICO, not the states and that's what we are signing up for. I think attitude is everything. I know that having 50+ people we will at least have one couple with a problem while we are there. However, the resort pictures are absolutly amazing and the food reviews are great too. I say we stay positive and give them a chance. Karisma has an excellent reputation which they don't want to ruin. I personally can deal with a little water in the bathroom and seaweed on the beach. We don't spend much time in our room or swim in the ocean so I'm sure it will be fabulous. We will be with our family and best friends with swim up bars, unlimited alchohol and great food so I know we'll have a great time no matter where we stay. I would suggest reading some trip advisor reviews from other 5 star resorts and then make a decision. I know this is the most important day of our lives but I think we need to keep in mind our laid back fun attitudes that made us chose Mexico in the first place. Good luck to you all no matter what you decide.

Sorry i'm so long winded but just one more thing.... I stayed at the El Dorado Royale(another karisma) a year ago and it was an awesome resort. I would have gotten married there but we have a few couples bringing kids and it's adults only. I read some trip advisor reviews the other day just to see how they compared to this resort knowing that I would return to El Dorado no matter what the reviews said. There were several good and bad reviews similar to the Azul's. I think some people are just a bit more picky than others and you have to decide what's most important to you. We go for the ambiance, company, drinks, great ocean views and fantastic food. I believe Azul Sensatori will deliver these things and we'll deal with the rest.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
