We are also combining our wedding/honeymoon we are staying at the resort we are getting married at for 13 days we were going to go to a different resort but we did not want to pack up all our stuff (mainly my dress). We are then planning on going to Ireland late spring.

Agree with others that you should figure out what budget is right for you :) We were in Jamaica for almost 3 weeks and the honeymoon portion of our trip (13 days) was about $7000. We moved around a bit, and stayed 4 nights at each of 3 locations in Jamaica, after a week at our wedding hotel. It was truly an amazing trip and way to start our life together. I personally think once you figure out what you can afford, try to stay for as long as possible! Happy planning!

For any planning on changing resorts... send that bad-boy home with your family! There was no way we were shlepping our wedding clothes around Jamaica! Even with a ton of stuff, we ended up getting laundry done at one of our hotels!

OH man, that's a great idea! I didn't even think of doing that. Thanks for the suggestion.

We are moving resorts for our HM. We'll be staying at Le Blanc for 6 nights and I think it's around $4 or $5k for the honeymoon suite. It's nice to not have to do airfare again.

FI and I are planning on going back to Europe for our honeymoon on our 1 year anniv. We got engaged in Venice, so we knew we wanted to go back.

The plan is to fly into Paris, take the train to Provence then into Italy; Venice, Cinque Terre, Tuscan Region, and Rome. If we have the $$ and time we will try to make into Germany or Czech. We will stay in my FMIL timeshare either in Rome or Paris so this should save us some $$.

We will spend about $8-10k which includes everything and spending money. We plan on taking the train throughout the France and Italy, it's easier and cheaper.

FI and I are headed to Hawaii after our wedding in Mexico. We're staying 12 nights on two different islands in 4 star resorts. We used points for one of our flights and 4 nights on Kuaui and have budgeted a total of $7500 for the rest - hotel, interisland air, car, food, ect (though we may blow that out of the water depending on what activities and restuarants we happen upon...would be nice to have some sort of plan for our trip, but FI is in charge of that so that's not happening yet) :)

We also combined our wedding with our honeymoon. The airfare RT between CA and HI was only $800 for the both of us. Thoughtfully my family gifted us thier timeshares last minute, so we saved a ton of money there. However, I originally budgeted for hotel stay ~$2500. Here's a website I found printable travel budget worksheets.

We took a cruise last year. I have to admit that the all-inclusive price was nice.

I do travel a lot and can tell you. It truly isn't where you are it is who you are with and what you do while you are there. I have been all over the tropics and some of my favorite places are not the place I would have thought going there would turn out to be my fav.

Happy Planning
Kathy,

Where are you staying?

We are doing separate weeks of our HM and our wedding so we can actually be alone for 2 weeks. We have booked 1 week of rooms at the St. Regis Bora Bora (using points for some as we want the over water bungalows but they want $120k a nite). We are waiting on flights as they are still high due to >6 mos out and are trying to book a catamaran for the 2nd week but still researching. It is more thatn I was thinking as I thought I could use points for the hotel as we are an owner of their residence in NY and Am Ex points for flights (but when I tried too book it wasn't the 300k I had saved it was over a milion...NO WAY...I will pay cash first). So we are wiating until Jan. to book ours. I was trying to do it for no more than $10k plus free flights and 7 days free rooms....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
