ponytail curl

I'm trying to figure out my BM hair for the next wedding i'm in. My hair will be really long by then. I want to wear it up & fix it myself. It's a casual outdoor wedding.

I want to do a high ponytail & curl it into one big spiral curl.

this is the closest picture i can find

I don't want lots of curls. Just one big twist.

How do you do that? I tried with a curling iron & straightener but it's too much hair to put in at once.

What you can do is curl it in pieces first because it's not going to work all at once. Then take it in bigger sections and go over it with the flat iron in the same type of curl that you want it, then gradually shape the curl into one. I do it all the time when I wear a ponytail piece in the summer time.

Make sense?

yes, that makes sense. I'll try it this way if lauren's super easy method doesn't work for me.

morgan, what i do is either use curlers or a curling iron, medium size barrell, like 1 inch or 1 1/2 inch.

if you use curlers, make sure to roll all the chunks into the same direction and pin facing the same way. you can do the overnight spongy kind on wet hair, then blow dry before removing in the morning, OR the hot rollers. oh also make sure the rollers are vertical, NOT horizontal. you want them to be pined in the same direction the spiral will hang, up and down :)

either way, once you remove the curlers, dont shake out your hair. put it in a pony right away with a nice tight rubberband, then twirl your hair with your whole hand in the direction of the curl. it ends up looking like a cindy brady spiral ponytail!

after i do that i also take a small section of hair from the under-middle part of the ponytail and wrap it around the rubberband a few times, then push the tail of the strand up and back into the underside of the base of the pony using a short, tight bobby pin, it looks really cute and polished!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
