TTD Question, probably a dumb ?

Recommended Posts

Okay, so I really want to do some form of Trash the Dress. I especially love the ones in water up to the knees or laying on sand together. My question to the ladies who have done this or are planning on it, are you doing this with your wedding dress (ie the real one) and having a cheaper backup dress for the pics, or just going for it? Are you all just assuming that sand and water can be cleaned?

Honestly, my dress was not crazy expensive, and I doubt I would pass it down for generations or something like that. Just curious about how TTD is typically done.

THanks!huh02.gif

I bought another dress not because I didn't want to ruin my dress but because I knew my dress would be SUPER heavy when it was wet. I kinda wished I used my wedding dress though because my TTD dress ended up really clean and my wedding dress was FILTHY. I know if I had used it for the TTD it would have been a lot cleaner coming home.

From wearing it around on the wedding day. It drags the ground and collects EVERY piece of dirt around. My TTD dress was so clean that I didn't even have to get it cleaned when I came home. I know a lot of people say that they wore their wedding dress and it came out cleaner after the photo session than it was before. But you never know.

Yeah, I am still deciding if I care about the dress after the wedding. It wasnt super extravagant, or anything, and while i want to keep it around for memories, I guess after getting it cleaned it goes into some type of storage package anyway, right?

There are a couple of threads on this you should search for, but I know you should also consider your dress material. Silk gets water damage (spots) and lace will collect sand more than other fabrics.

Oh wait...I remember a photographer just did a thread about TTD dress tips. You also have to consider how the dress will play with the water (get too heavy like Kat said or bubble up, etc).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
