Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

We didn't have any problems with the restaurants. If you have a larger group trying to make a reservation, they may make you a later time. But it seems like they were willing to accomodate and makes changes. THey may tell you your reservation is at 930p but to check back that day and see if they can change it then. Then they get on their phone and make tons of phone calls and get you in earlier. It seems like they don't really tell you no. They just make it work somehow. I would try to make reservations as soon as you can.

note, the apostilled birth certificated and the translation into Spanish must be with the stamp from the Mexican Embassy to can be valid and acceptable,

If you would like to legalize your documents through the Hotel

1). - Once you get married here, will receive an Certificate (official document)

2). - Couple need to come back with wedding coordinator after the wedding date with the marriage act to make copy of Certificate and will send it to Chetumal to the "Apostille", this will takes around 3 months and will have a charge of $70.00 USD + $50.00 USD (120 usd estimated) for the sending of the documents to Canada by DHL, FEDEX (This delivery charge is subject to change according to the company that we use to send the documents)

In this form can legalize your marriage at country once receive these legal documents, or can ask before to come in the Mexican Embassy in your Country If they can do it through them"

First answer... steph-a-whatcha-ma-call-it flowers are NOT available in Mexico. I'm sure you could get them... but it would be VERY expensive.

Now, as for the legal documents? That's really weird. We brought our passports... that's it. That's all we needed. Then they drew the blood and gave us the marriage certificate that night (which was accepted at the DMV & Social Security office).

So... not sure what that's about. Oh, are either of you divorced? I know it's a lot more work to legally get married down there if you were divorced.

I also talked to yuritzia on the phone and she said all we needed was our passports and tourist cards that you get from the airport in mexico and thats it. i asked her 2xabout a birth certificate and she said i dont need it and we are also having a legal ceremony.

Hi everyone, I'm a colleague of Corvette's and I'm getting married at the GBP Akumal on April 28th. Every time I read this thread my anxiety goes through the roof! I thought this whole destination wedding thing was supposed to be ready made! We thought we would be having a very small wedding but it turns out were having around 30-40 people. I'd like to book a poolside reception but I haven't decided if we should go with the international or the basic. My fiance's step dad wants to pay for it so I'm thinking of going with the cheaper option. I'm going with the symbolic ceremony to be followed by a civil ceremony in Vancouver so I don't need to stress about documentation but now I'm concerned that our guests might feel duped if they find out it is just symbolic. My matron of honour hasn't confirmed that she's coming and if she does come she wants to stay off resort because my fiance's best friend is her ex. This makes it hard to plan what the girls will wear. On that note my fiance hasn't asked anyone to stand up for him.... I really just can't wait until the day so that whatever happens, happens and I don't have to worry about it anymore! BTW- what is the Hacienda?

magaliscious - Oh, don't start stressing... you still have lots of time!!! Why does your friend staying off the resort make it hard to plan what the girls will wearhuh.gif

Your friend will have to get a day pass for the wedding but she'll still be able to get ready with you. and the other girls.

I was just wonderig if anyone form Canada knows what to do with my marriage certificate once I am back home. I'm pretty sure I just take it to my lawyer to have it noterized, and somehow translated? Any info would be awesome, and greatly appriciated .

wow lots of canadians in the thread recently

i too am freaking out. i emailed paloma yesterday asking if i can book my reception time and she tells me she doesn't even have my wedding on the agenda. wtf.gif my travel agent arranged my wedding date and confirmation so i have to wait for him to get back to me. i'm really hoping she's just saying that and won't deal with me until she's seen my confirmation. otherwise i'm going to cry cuz everything else i've planned based on my wedding date is now useless.

magaliscious - does your matron of honour realize how big the resort is? i'm guessing it wouldn't be that hard for her to avoid her ex

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
