Hi ladies!!

So, I've been reading page after page for hours because I originally wanted to have my Nov 2009 wedding at Riu Palace Los Cabos, but I absolutely fell in love with DC after looking at pics and reading about the experiences that everyone has had. We haven't booked yet, but we would like to asap since everyone tends to book early. I haven't heard back from the WC at DC yet...did you all reserve your date directly through DC or through your TA? Any advice would be wonderful!

Thanks!

we got the club tower junior jacuzzi suite, so i can't really help you. it is one bedroom and has a jacuzzi, so maybe it is actually what you're looking for? we didn't see any reason why the "master suite" would be better for us, but it was more expensive (it has a second jacuzzi in the bathroom, otherwise not much different!). one girl on here did get the "presidential suite" ... that was definitely impressive!

this is simply the MOST frustrating part of a destination wedding ... the WCs are very slow to answer emails! some girls had luck with calling. i found that once i put my TA on it i got answers faster. the best advice i can give is to be as flexible as possible with your wedding date ... they book up fast! try to give first, second, and third choice dates, and if they turn up unavailable, try asking what dates ARE available in whichever month you're going for.

best of luck! afterward, everyone always says they stressed over the lack of communication for nothing ... most things can be decided or finalized when you get there!

Does anyone know what the colors are that Dreams offers for their chair bows. My colors are orange and fushia and I need to know if I should bring my own chair bows. Also, do they offer other fabrics other than satin for the bows? I am also assuming that they should have the same colors for the table linens, right? I would rather rent these things from them than to have to carry them with me.

Thanks!!!!elefant.gif

I have reserved the 1 br suite but I am considering on downgrading to the Jacuzzi suite because of the cost. I never got pictures of what the room looks like so if anyone has any please post.

Thanks a bunch!!!! smile72.gif

Tina and Lucy - I'm considering the same - 20-25 people in the gazebo, cocktail hour on the terrace, dinner on the beach. But - eek - I don't know where to start or how crazy expensive I'm talking! I received some info from Gaby - so I know what the packages are, but I'm not sure of the little upgrades (looking at the Ultimate Wedding Package). Can you guys give me an idea of your budgets/upgrades (if you feel comfortable - I understand if you don't!) Thanks!!

M

Hello M,

On our contract Gaby gave us a list of prices

The dreams ultimate package is $2650

blood work $330

translation of birth certificates $110

validation of certificates $181.5

renting the sound system for the ceremony at gazebo $198

total: $3469.5

chair bows are extra - not sure on exact price - i know i have it somewhere

lights under the tables are extra

extra gazebo decor

So that is mainly just the basics - about $3500 for the biggest package - don't forget to add in room and airfare as well.

Great deal though with everything you get in the package . . .

I hope that helps

Tina

They have a huge fold out full of ribbon colors. I was shocked how many colors they have. In my own opinon I would not bring my own, I can almost guarantee that they will have your colors.

so my FI and I had decided to do the reception in the ballroom... now he wants to do it on the beach. Does anyone know where I can find pictures of a reception that was done on the beach? I am interested in seeing the set up. Also, is the resort DJ going to charge me extra for the dance floorhuh.gif This just drives me nuts that he can not make up his mind and stick with it smile41.gif

Thanks so much Tina! That's really helpful. I've been in contact with Gaby and hope to get our date nailed down this week. Looks like July 4 - so we'll always have fireworks on our anniversary (well....except this year, since we'll be in Mexico :)

Last night my future MIL suggested Vegas - and by "suggested" - I mean demanded. Geez. Where are these people when you're actually asking for advice/opinions? After I made up my mind to go to Cancun, she starts the Vegas talk?! Ugh.

Thanks again everyone!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
