That's sounds better, I'm kind of worried about that, they need to be more specific on their site. I've been emailing w/ Claudia directly. And have we figured out that she is actually including the $500 in her price quotes to all of us??

Great, honest review! Thanks so much for all your insight :)

Good to know, but I would still try to get him to finalize some things with you.

I ordered my gown yesterday! I went with the Maggie Sottero because it seemed more beachy and they have petite sizes. I would have had to alter the other one drastically. Let's hope it gets here before my wedding date!

Oh, and I'm glad Tiffany is quick w/ the replies. Thanks to you'all that have been posting the info from her! And that's funny that Fabio has maybe been checking out little chats. I wonder if he's referring to the email that TA Jennifer sent out to Faith?

I was leaning towards the garden rooftop as we were wanting heavy hors d'oevres and music/dancing in an intimate setting all night. I thought the other two options were too wide open to the resort. They said that we can't have music at the garden rooftop so that is a definate NO because we have to have music. Has anyone heard of other options for the reception. I am thinking of changing to a full sit down dinner as this is getting way more complicated than I expected. Ideashuh.gif
not an awful lot to choose from ! frown.gif

If anyone has booked with Claudia pictures or her husband for videography directly you should forward Fabio or Tiffany the price list that she or Mike gave you so he can make sure that they are the same prices that Lomas charges and he should tell you in an email that there will not be an outside broker fee. I did that and he said that we can use them and not have to pay an outside broker fee.

This is great thanks for everyone posting ideas, on this resort different questions with answers! My Fiancé and I are getting married at this resort 4/24/09 we are super excited. Our ceremony is for 5 pm.

So excited. This site is great I have gotten great ideas, and questions answered with all of your help! thanks, the pics from people who have had their weddings already are amazing. From what I was told depending on the package you pick is how your photographer is chosen.

We are having a private event, because we want a DJ so we can dance we are expecting about 30-50 people coming to our wedding.

Some of the things that alarm me is that you have to buy the guest passes in advance for those who are staying at other properties to me we won't know that info until it gets closer to the date.

thanks any suggestions or comments please feel free to contact me

Katherine

This is how she responded to me....it is soooo frustrating trying to find the perfect place. I love the rooftop idea!!!! I don't think people will dance out in the middle of the resorthuh.gif

Hi Ali,
Thank you for your email. Unfortunatly we cannot reserve an area till 90 days prior to your wedding date. Remind me in February that you would like this to be reserved for you. Please keep in mind that you can have a maximum of 60 people for this location and it is for a cocktail party only. There will be 6 high tables and unfortunately there can be no music. If you have any other questions please let me know

Hi Polina,

Could you please ask the onsite coordinators what is the best way to ship things to the resort from the US? I am bringing my centerpieces and they are very big, tall glass vases. It will just be too hard for us trying to get them there. You may ask how far in advance we should ship them, if we should put ATTN: to (one of them), should we put our names somewhere on the boxes so they know who they belong to, etc....

I sure do appreciate it!

P.S. If there are any other brides who will be there the same time as us (we will be there 4/29-5/7) and would like to use our centerpieces, let me know. You are more than welcome....let me know and I can send or post pics of what they will look like.
Thanks,
Tracy

I'm getting a little annoyed about the inflexibility there seems to be with things surrounding the dinner/cocktail party/reception...is anyone else? Our wedding was booked for 4pm in November, but I tried to switch it to 3pm in order to have enough time for pics before the sun starts to go down. Since I wasn't able to switch it to 3pm (JP booked for a year out already!), I asked if I could have a short ceremony at 4pm, then an hour for a cocktail party before sitting down for dinner...but they are not able to adjust any of the times/prices for the cocktail parties so it is basically 2 hours or nothing! If the wedding was at 3pm, 2 hours would work out perfect before dinner, but with a 4pm wedding, if I start the dinner at 630-ish, that only really leaves us with about 2 1/2-3 hours for dancing! And I'd like to also know why if you have your reception on the beach they couldn't extend the time out to midnight. If anyone else has these frustrations, or has addressed them with the WC before, I'd love to hear from you! I don't plan on getting down to serious planning business with Tiffany until next July/August, but maybe in the meantime if there are enough of us requesting some flexibility we can band together and get it done! One of the suggestions that was made to me by my TA was to rent a bus and take our guests to Cancun club. The only problem is fitting 60-70 guests and how much that would cost... It's about 33$ US pp. smile41.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
