We also looked at Del Sol, Cecilia Dumas, Dino Gomez, and Claudia Rodriguez. You could also consider bringing your own photographer down with you.

I was able to find a recent list of mayan photogs on here awhile ago but can't seem to find it right now. I'll keep looking and I'll post the link if I find it.

We are using Claudia Rodriguez photography... (Well, Citalli is doing our photography Claudia's associate)... We couldn't be happier with the experience so far with Claudia, she is awesome and we are supa excited about Citalli!!! check her out at Claudia Rodriguez, Photographer, Cancun & Riviera Maya

I originally wanted Claudia & she had our date open but my fiance isn't into the pictures as much as me so he was having trouble paying that much...he actually wanted the resort photog. So, we comprimised and found a less expensive photographer. But, I absolutely love Claudia's work!! I originally hired a videographer but to get them for the ceremony & the reception I had to hire them for the whole day, which wasn't cheap, but it seemed like a waste cause there's not much to videotape while we're getting photos done & eating supper etc., so I decided I'd just get someone in the family to do it instead.

That's funny! I'm having the same issues with my FI, right now we are thinking we may go with Sascha Gluck. And I agree, the resort photogs seem to make everyone who gets married at the Iberostar do the same cheesy poses ALL THE TIME! It is not something I want at all lol.

Funny ya'll should say that!!! I was the one that had a problem with the price of Claudia my Fiance didn't care... But when I put it into perspective of what we would pay in Illinois (or what my 2 friends that just got married paid), it really wasn't all that bad! Don't get me wrong it's expensive I think we are paying like $3g's but we aren't doing a videographer and my pics besides the judge showing up are the most important things on our wedding - hehehe!!! All I asked for is my judge and photographer and I am all good!

We attended a wedding last Dec at the Lindo and had a wonderful time as guests! We were really impressed. I do know that their coordinator didn't turn up for the rehearsal so the day of the wedding was a little confused. And she HATED how they did her hair at the salon there so some friends did it for her. But otherwise the hiccups were few and everyone had a wonderful time. I will say that I didn't care for the ceremony too much because it was right on the middle of the beach and there were lots of onlookers (and a jet ski in the background). It was very nice, just not very private.

We even considered having our wedding there! (but have decided on PV).

Hmmm, I have an email into the wedding coordinator at the Del Mar but maybe someone might know this... We are getting married in May having a civil legal ceremony judge 'n all (at the Del Mar) we are from Illinois what are the requirements to get legally married in Mexico? What do we have to bring/get I think its a blood test in mexico, passport, and certified birth certificate -right - I'm I forgetting something? Somewhere I read something about an apostille do we need that and what is it?

Ohhh, and what do we have to do (if anything) to make it legal in Illinois/USA? How do we change are name too? Any info. would greatly help...

Thanks,

Danielle

Hey there! We're having a civil ceremony at paraiso beach (same side as del mar), Gabriela told me that all we need are our passports and our un-translated long form birth certificates. There is a blood test that will be done when you meet with Gabriela a few days prior to the wedding date. I think it's $100 each but not 100% sure of that cost.

Also, if anyone getting married (civil ceremony) at Del Mar/Beach wants to see some of the stuff that Gabriela has you fill out prior to the wedding, let me know and I'll email em to you. :) She sent me some forms the other day requesting bride & groom information as well as witness in and another document requesting our preferences for the ceremony location, cake flavour, reception restaurant, etc.

Thanks Ladies! I am back and the wedding was AWESOME!!! I am working on my review now, but I did just read through the thread and saw some questions I can answer here. I will say though that you will be very happy with the Iberostar hotels. The wedding coordinators (Araceli and Tony) are great to work with, all the staff is super friendly, the hotels are clean, and all our guests had a great time and are already talking about going back.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
