DH and I stopped doing presants a several years ago. We typically try to do an activity. Last year I took him sky diving on his B-day etc... However this year for christmas, our calender is pretty booked. So maybe we will do small gifts. We are pinching pennies trying to save for a house.

I wish we could say we are taking Christmas down a notch or two....but we have an 8 year old who may be a little disapointed if we didn't do gifts. We kinda discussed doing a family gift and then getting the kids "santa" gifts. We were thinking of a Wii...cause it's a gift everybody...except Wyatt, he's only 13 months...will enjoy. But we aren't giving gifts to each other...so that maybe taking it down.

Ok I feel kind of bad because I can think of a zillion things I'd like! (I LOOOVE Christmas though - even more than my bday; giving and receiving gifts is one of my favorite things! wink.gif)

- Candles

- Vino

- A cute wrap around "robe-like thing" (lol) for when I get out of the shower

- There's a necklace and set of earrings I have my eye on

- Gift Certs.

- SoPhyto things (my skin care line)

- Peppermint Hot Chocolate

- new coat

- new purse

uhhmmm, that's all I can think of right now =P

DH and I will probably either not do gifts and save our money for things for the new house .... or just do a joint gift for each other (but we will be filling each others stockings).

Having our DW this year makes gifts for family easy - photo booksand framed pics. lol

I plan on getting FI an engraved liquor canistor with matching glasses. They have them at KegWorks (online) for about $100.
OMG I'm stealing your idea of a liquor canistor! FI would love this! Great idea!

A Wii is a perfect family gift! We love ours. Its definitely something everyone can do. Even my FI's 60 yr old father loves playing. Although he always plays tennis and always manages to hit whoever he plays w/ in the head!

I'm wanting a new camcorder, and an iTouch. We'll see what happens.

We wanted to cut back a little on christmas, so I thought I would start early and buy gifts as we go (mostly if they are on sale) to help out.... bad idea! Doesn't help cut down at all!!!! Instead, we've already got gifts for everyone, and we just keep on buying a little at a time. We'll probably end up having the biggest christmas we've had. Which is pretty big, last year we did big gifts... for one of his brothers we bought him rock band and he has 4 siblings and I have 3 and we always spend the same amount on all of them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
