Childhood beliefs as an adult

when i was a kid my grandparents used to take me to asbury park (home of bruce springsteen ... it used to have boardwalk amusements like a smaller version of seaside heights or wildwood ... now it's just crackhouses and such ... so sad!).

anyway, i always thought asbury park was "raspberry park" which i suppose is really cute coming from a kid, but no one in my family ever let me live it down!

Still to this day I hate them! My mom told me once that if I didn't tie my shoes my laces would get caught in them and suck me under!! I swear to you still to this day I jump over the suck under part. I don't even realize I do it anymore. Ryan noticed it one day and was like WTF? lol

Same here about the shoelaces!

I remember the day in 8th grade I realized that the hispanic name "Jesus" was not "Jesus" (like Christ) but pronounced like "hey-seus" (hope that sound-it-out spelling isn't offensive). And I live in Texas so I always wondered why parents would name their kids "Jesus".

Another 7th grade moment - a girl had "69" stickers all over her notebook and I asked her what they were and she just smiled and said it was her favorite number. I found out probably 2 years later what it was. Well now this girl is a city attorney and I laugh every time I see her name because all I can think of is those dang "69" stickers!

Ummm, so Im still scared of the dark, still terrified of the movie ET (thank you Steven Spielberg for scarring me for life) and am not a big fan of elevators. Oh and my family still thinks its funny to tease me about my speech impediment - I used to have a really bad lisp and went to speech therapy ... yadayada yada, but now you cant notice it unless Im tanked or I say words with too many "S" sounds.

I like this thread-It's given me some good laughs today! cheesy.gif

Once when I was like 3 or 4 we were in a restaurant and I was eating salad...apparently I really like the salad dressing because I yelled out: "This is great hairdressing!!" Lol. My mom still laughs about it.

Every summer I visited my grandparents in Kelowna, British Columbia and I thought that JUST their house was called Kelowna....i didn't know it was a whole city...

Ahhh, the simple days of being a kid!!! cheesy.gif

oh man, the salad thing just reminded me of something my IDIOT ex said once when we were out to dinner!

waiter: "soup or salad?"

idiot ex: "no thanks, i don't even like 'regular' salad!"

HAHAHAHAHA he was thinking the guy asked if he wanted SUPER salad! the poor waiter was just so confused ... meanwhile, i had water coming out of nose, i was laughing so hard! must've laughed through the entire dinner! i'm so glad i'm rid of the IDIOT!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
