Congratulations!

I'm getting married April 9th at the Lindo. Have you been in contact much with the wedding coordinators? I was told that they don't do much planning until about 3 months out but it seems like lots of people on this board already have had quite a bit of contact & planning done.

Welcome & congratulations! I'm getting married April 9. Planning is going good...I think. I'm sure that I'll panic in a month or so and think I've done nothing!! :) How about you - how's the planning?

Hey there and congrats on your upcoming wedding!

Just to put your mind at ease, I thought I would let you know that you don't have to use the resort photographer, but if you chose not to, you have to pay the resort a fee of $300 as they have a contract with that particular photographer. This fee is just so that you can bring in your own photographer, which you will also have to pay (naturally). There are quite a few wonderful photographers that work in Mexico that post here such as Juan Carlos Tapia, Elizabeth Medina, etc. Look them up, they do fabulous work!

I hope this helps and good luck!! :)

You also have to pay $100 day pass per person. You might want to check out the posts on the Iberostar wedding board regarding photography. There's definitely mixed reviews there. This is the latest one:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
