Same Sex Marriage Became Legal In CA today...

FYB87

Recommended Posts

I am so happy about this, truly I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to know that my own brother cannot experience the joy I felt on my wedding day.

I am proud of CA for doing this, I hope other states follow suit and that our next president won't be so close minded and stubborn. I honestly believe that one day I will be telling my daughter that not all people, including her uncle were allowed to get married and she will laugh and think that is crazy, just as I look back and think it was crazy that women were not allowed to vote.

there is a measure on the ballot to create a constitutional amendment in CA this November which would overturn the supreme courts ruling-that is the only way to overturn the supreme court in any state or in the country is to pass a constitutional amendment...and sadly enough there are still enough ignorant people in CA like the lady in Kern county who is just not going to issue any marriage liscenses at all instead of having to issue them to homosexuals.

I know you are new here but honestly this is offensive and since I don't know you I will assume you are joking and just happy for all the many many people who will finally be able to legally join together.

Well I may not have 10,000 posts but I wasn't joking at all. When the economy is in the tank and everyone is feeling it, hundreds of millions of dollars coming in is good for everyone.

Of course now there are certain people/places that are refusing to perfom same sex marriages, but that was expected. I'm surprised it took CA this long to do it. But then they're still talking about overturning it yet again, so we'll see what happens.

Sorry for detracting from the thread, I am very happy for those people who are now able to get married, and decide to do so.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
