Hi All, I am in the very beginning stages of planning a destination wedding. And I reallly love the atlantis. But I have heard that its so expensive. I'm trying to get a ball park figure for about 50-75 people including a welcome dinner and maybe activities. Would anyone be able to tell me an estimate? I'm just trying to figure out how much my fiance and I need to save to make it happen or if its really unrealistic. I'm so excited that there are brides on here from the Atlantis! Thanks for sharing all of the above info.

Thanks!

Hi Sah,

Congrats on your engagement! Atlantis is pricey compared to some other places, but then again, it's not as pricey as some of the places from my city.

There is a site fee of $3,500 for the wedding and there is a Food and Beverage minimum of $150 per person. I originally thought it was $150 per person just for the wedding reception, but it's not. The F&B minimum is applied over 2 functions (like rehersal dinner and wedding reception, or welcome dinner and wedding reception, etc.), so this makes it a lot more reasonable. There are also other "fees" involved here and there.

If you have the weddinig at Atlantis, each of the guests at your wedding must be guests of Atlantis. Accomodations at Atlantis are expensive, but they offer decent group rates. However, in order to get the group rates, you have to book at least 10 rooms for three nights each. This may be a problem for some people.

I am planning a wedding for 50 at Atlantis in September/October, and my math reflects that I will spend around $20,000 - $25,000 for everything (expect the honeymoon and dress). To me, that is expensive, as I thought the whole idea of a destination wedding was to save money. However, I LOVE the pictures I have seen of this resort, and it seems to have everything you could possibly need for a the type of wedding weekend that I envision.

Look at some of the earlier posts on this thread and you will find some very helpful information.

Is anyone here using a wedding planner outside of the one provided through Atlantis, or has anyone used the Atlantis coordinator their wedding? I want to know if the Atlantis coordinator handles all of the vendors (and confirm everything with vendors), organizes all day of and rehersal events, and coordinate everything else (like gift bags, group events and any last minute stuff that may come up).

Hey Guys. I am getting closer to a wedding date and that is making me excited.

Did any of you get the opportunity to look at the Seagrapes Overlook? They say that is the most secluded of the outside venue, and I was wondering how it looked in real life.

I know how you feel, November 2nd will make it only 6 months left. I can't wait either. I went with the Beach for the ceremony and the royal overlook for the reception. I just loved the way it looked at night with the royal towers as the back drop. Did you get all of the information from the wedding coordinators? They sent me extra photos of the site locations other then the ones online. I tried to download them for you, but it kept failing. I can email them to you if you want, i just need your address. Let me know if I can help.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
