Iberostar Brides....POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I must disagree about it being such a steal. You must be forgetting that your guests are paying almost $400/per night - per/person to stay at the resort. Just cause its cheaper to have a wedding in Mexico than it is here... doesn't make it a "steal"

My biggest frustration is that if you have let's say for example 60 guests attend considering they are "all-inclusive" at your wedding & staying at your same resort...they paid an average of $1,500.00 for a 4 night stay (not including what their all gonna spend once their down there) ...so that's a total of $90,000...( not pesos )

and then the bride and groom have to spend an additional $15,000 so that their guests could sip champagne and eat one of 3 following dinner options...not even their choice of food because that's the "rule". Not only should the champagne be INCLUDED....the food should be INCLUDED. I'm not saying the photographer should be free, or the chair decorations should be free, or the DJ/mariachi band should be free...but food & drink should be included...that's the point of an all-inclusive & that's what your guest pay for when they pay for "all-inclusive".

If you think the resort pays their staff anywhere near minimum wage to serve your guests glasses of champagne, think again.

anyway...enough out of me.

I didn't realize that the Lindo had a gazebo. It'll be interesting to find out what it's like. Any idea on how many guests you can have if you have it in the gazebo?

You're getting so close Michelle!! :)

I believe the gazebo is actually the pyramid on top of the wave pool at the Lindo. The Del Mar has an actual gazebo in the garden, which is the picture that I saw and thought we were getting until I later found out that it was not. I have not seen how the pyramid is set up for the wedding, and my main concern is if they allow people in the wave pool during the ceremony. We will check it out and confirm when we get down there, but if we hate it we will probably have the ceremony on the beach.

We leave in 1.5 weeks! I can't believe how fast the time goes. I am starting to go into freak out mode because we were trying to pack some more stuff tonight and I think we are going to need to pay for a 5th check bag, or we are going to need to give a suitcase to Mike's parents. Our wedding stuff alone is taking up 3 checked suitcases, and we still have carryon items. I wish we could just ship stuff down to Mexico, it would be so much easier!

Oh, that makes sense. I forgot about the wave pool pyramid.

It would be so much easier if things could be shipped!! I'm starting to wonder about the packing myself. I don't feel like I have a lot to take down with me, but it all adds up pretty quickly. Are you taking a lot for decorations?

I feel like we are not taking that much (I'm working on my planning thread right now so that will be up soon so you can see all my stuff), but it takes up room in suitcases quickly! Our OOT bags took up a whole suitcase so that really screwed us up. We got straw bags so they don't pack flat. I love the bags, and if we had any more guests I probably would have had to get different ones.

A planning thread....very cool, looking forward to it!

I'm been contemplating cheating a bit with the OOT bags and mailing them out to my guests about a week or so before we leave so they can pack their own...lol. I doubt I'll do that, but it would make it easier :)

I got the necklace at Von Maur and the earrings at Macy's. This is the 3rd pair of earrings I bought. The others were longer and bigger, but I didn't think they looked right on me.

They're very pretty pieces. The necklace is the style I've been looking for. It's all going to look really good with your dress.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
