Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Recommended Posts

Veterans-- I'm getting a newsletter together for our guests and want to let them know whether or not their cell phones will work at Dreams Cancun. Did your's work? Does it depend on whether you have 'international' service or something? Can you text?

Second-- did/are any of you getting 'travel health insurance' if your plan doesn't cover interatnional travel?

we had to add international service onto our phones, which I think was 4.95 per month and then so much per minute. I'm glad we did it because it was nice to be able to call home after everyone left, because our daughter was at home too, so we wanted to check in on her. We have AT&T and it worked great.

Also, did you get your makeup done by the spa? Do you know if you need to bring your own makeup or if they have it? My MOH is wondering if she should make sure to bring everything or not.

Thanks Again!!
I did get my makeup done there and it was amazing. I used their makeup and I think they did a great job! I was really scared going into it but there was no need to worry!!!

Mine worked but I have the International coverage. It will all depend on peoples individual plans.

My guests used them... It all went perfectly. I used the one on the beach for a snorkeling trip.. I don't know if it was the same people. But the snorkeling was great!!

Well I finally got an answer from Claudia about the photographer lol

I took TA Jill's advice and said I'd already booked her lol She has blocked out the time for me until I get an answer so it wasn't a complete lie lol

Anyway after a week of not hearing anything I email her saying i've not heard from you so I presume its not a prob having an outside photographer lol About an hour later I get a reply saying its $55 for a day pass lol

At least now I know but still didn't answer about the package and getting a credit for it lol I've said i'll contact her in February to sort out the details as I have a feeling I'll be re-arranging the package lol

i'm considering (i'd say "we're" considering, but haven't run it by tom yet, LOL) using claudia rodriguez for the wedding day photography so i sent claudia cantillo (WC ... too many claudias!) an email asking about day passes and what i can exchange out of the package. she said no day pass was necessary for my photographer (she's the only approved outside photographer that doesn't require a pass), but get this:

"If you don't want to use Juan Navarro instead of the photos in the package we can give you the gazebo drapery only"

get the f*ck outta here with that crap! the included photo package is $600 so why would i only get some overpriced drapery for it? why not the ceremony sound system, or some flowers, or additional video time? that's ridiculous!

You got more out of her than me then lol I she totally ignored that question from me lol

I am seriously considering re-doing the package she can stick the net right up her no way is that worth $600 even on the extras bit it is $400 lol I can't see why they can't extend the video because when I initially enquiried I asked if I could drop the video and have more pics and she said yes so why can't they do it the other way round lol

I personally don't want the video but I think FI's sister is on her last legs so she'd probably want and she is the only one I like out of his lot lmao

I'm not now contacting her until Feb so things will have probably changed again in that time lol let me know if you get anywhere tho and i'll have a go 2 lmao

I've booked Martha Roque, she's doing my TTD and she gets back to you so quick and seems really friendl, fingers crossed lol punk.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
