I really am not keen on those pics - i am truly stuffed!!! and its already caused a fight with FI lol He thinks the group shots are great!! and said well if they like their pics thats fine. I agree however what he doesn't get is HE IS TAKING OURS FFS!!! apparently thats a risk with everyone - i swear he is a frigging caveman at times.

So my pics will be shit lol

Harty...did you try cancun studios? There not that bad. Cecilia Dumas is also very reasonable which is who I decided to go with

I'm looking at it but having a hard time persuading FI to do it lol I'm gonna check out the prices tho.

I'm checking with the girl that is going to do our TTD and i'm hoping she says she can do and its not that expensive. Wonder what I can trade for the pics with Claudia lol

I've searched this thread and i'm sure someone got something else instead of the pics but can I hell find it - anyone remember what it was? cheers

At this rate i'll be going for the basic and adding on lol

Gaby told me that for 3 hours of reception, if you hire a DJ, it would cost $924 bucks!!! WOW!!! Thats a lot of money. I'd be willing to pay that as long as I had peace of mind that every part of the music at the reception would be perfect. On the other hand, as I mentioned, THATS A LOT OF MONEY!!! What do you all think?
we have a pretty small group so i don't think it will be necessary to have an M.C., or even a mic for speeches and toasts, we can just speak up, ya know? i might put a friend in charge of the tunes (the bose has a remote as well). i plan on having my playlists really organized. if your group is larger or your reception is out on the beach your needs might differ.

We traded our pics for the sound system for the ceremony and some other various things. Also, we had our best man introduce us and nobody needed a mic for the toasts or anything. We had 23 people and everyone could hear just fine. We also played a game during dinner.... The way people would get us to kiss is they would cling their glass then someone would have to get up and tell a story about one of us. It was pretty funny. We laughed so hard. I thought that was a neat idea. Anyway, even when they were telling their stories, it was really easy to hear everyone!

Good for you!! Why can't Juan answer his own e-mails?? is he THAT busy?? I find that hard to believe since we have had so much trouble finding people who have used him!
Hopefully they don't give you trouble with your Photgrapher!! Something tells me you will make them see it your way! hahahaha :-)

I'm so glad Mummergirl posted the link for the pictures from Juan. THANK YOU! I must admit, this wedding is costing more than anticipated and I thought, how bad could the photographer be - it is a beautiful place and I've taken a photography class and even with basic training, can take pretty good pictures. So, I was going to chance it and use the resort photographer.

However, after seeing the pics and showing them to FI, I wasn't very impressed. They just seemed OK (won't tell you what FI thought of them). Anyways, yesterday, with just 8 days before we leave for Cancun, I decided to try to find a photographer. Thanks to everyone who has ever posted about photographers. I sent a bunch of inquiries and ended up booking Agustin Murillo from Cancun Studios (Jill's husband). Jill is going to charm Claudia for me since they've worked together before and I haven't told Claudia my change in plans. It's not like she would even respond before I get there anyways!!!

Thanks everyone for all your reviews. When I get back, I will post a full review (sorry, probably won't get around to doing a planning thread in the next week).

On a side note, I can't wait to be in Mexico. I've been SO stressed the last few weeks with last minute details. Unfortunately, that has caused me to eat more lately and break out! Also, the 10 day forecast is showing showers for the next Wed - Fri. I really pray it doesn't rain the entire time we are down there. That will SUCK.

I don't know if they would do this or not because they already have a Yoga class every morning at about 9?? in the Gazebo.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
