So..I see alot of girls making Menu cards...At what point do I find out what my Menu is? Does the WC let me know as it gets closer?
I didn't pick my menu until I got there... But I know you can before you leave.Does the Officiant show up for the rehersal? Do I have to contact him directly..or does the WC do that? No, he is not at the rehersal. The WC will contact him and he will show up at the wedding

And what about Cash...When you got to dreams and met with your WC...How did you pay off your balance for the wedding? Did you use your Debit/Credit card? Did you use cash? I put a CC on account at the desk. It was useful if you were buying something on the resort you could charge it to your room if there was a CC set up. Then when you check out they put the balance of the wedding, room, purchases, etc, all together and we paid it all at once.

And last but not least..For the girls that Bought the Bose Portable docking station...Did you plug that in somewhere or use batteries? And can you get a Microphone to hook up to it? The sound system on the ceremony is the sound system and a mic. For the reception we just plugged our station into the wall and we didn't have a Mic. If you are having your reception on the beach, I would bring batteries because I doubt there will be an outlet down there.
I would rather do that then rent their system just for the Mic. I am renting the Mic thing for the ceremony only.
Although, If I have the reception on the beach I think i have to have a DJ....Right? Wouldn't it seem silly without a DJ on the beach? I'm confused. I'm trying to stay on a Budget so I can do my AHR, but I also don't want to "Cheap" out on my Mexico wedding..Since that is our real wedding. I don't know...If I could be rich, this would all be no problem!! LOL
Thanks in advance for any info Ladies!! :-)
Hope that helps some

it depends on whether you got the regular bose or the portable. the portable can be charged to last 4-6 hours i think? otherwise i would think you'd have to plug in. i would certainly bring the plug no matter what, but i don't think you can plug in anywhere on the beach. since so many girls used their docking stations, i'm guessing there's no problem with adapting to their outlets?

also it's my understanding from the guys at the bose store that no, you can't hook a mic to the bose system. sad.gif sucks, i know.

hi girls! just wanted to let you all know that i got a response from the bride who left a positive comment on juan navarro (dreams photographer)'s website, along with a link to her photos. she also gave some other interesting insight on the resort so i'm posting it here:

Hi Lisa,

Congratulations! It will soon come round quickly! I don't have all the photo's online but some on them are on facebook here's the link Louise Clifford's Photos - Wedding in Mexico | Facebook. You'll see our cake, the table decorations and the band which comes with the ultimate wedding package (we had the same package).

I thought he was really good and wasn't intrusive at all. The video was excellent. I was really surprised at how good it came out. My one tip would be to speak with Claudia when you get there if there are certain photo's you want taking, as we didn't have any of me getting ready and looking back it would have been nice to have some. They will just show up for the ceremony otherwise.

Also, you may already know this but Claudia will take weeks to get back to you. Once you get there you will understand why, we saw four weddings on one day. There was only two days out of the two weeks we was there when there wasn't a wedding on. She's very busy and doesn't get much time to email people back.

If you want to make sure it's just your wedding on the day, I would check with Claudia first. I'm asked her not to book any other weddings on our day, as we had over 20 guests (which is what the hotel deems a large wedding ) she agreed to this.

Oh one more tip, I would try and get most of your things selected with Claudia before you go (the menu, cake, flowers and decorations etc) Claudia can email you all the files. There was another couple from England sitting next to us on the plane who got married at dreams the day after us and she hadn't chosen a thing she's just bought a dress and that was it...anyway she had to had several meetings with Claudia whilst she was out there whilst we just had a quick 15 minute meeting to confirm our choices and that was it. We could go off and enjoy our holiday and not have to worry about anything. Everything had already been ordered for us. The flowers and cake were beautiful. The service was amazing no one had an empty glass all night.

If there's anything else you want to know, just email me.

Thanks, and good luck!

Louise

Thanks for posting her response & pics!!

What they made e realize is this..If I decide to stick with him and extend my package a little...I will make a list of all the types of pics I want a head of time...And maybe some I don't want...LOL...and Also..I may choose to not have him at the reception. I'm not sure. I just didn't think they were very professional looking...I could have taken better pics. I have to look at his prices again :-( If he truly is the cheapest around, then i may have to go with my budget on this one. I want great pictures, but I want other things just as much...Hmmmm

If it holes a charge for 4-6 hours then I will be good to go, but of course I will take the plug just in case.
I feel like if I have the reception on the beach I will need a DJ. I feel in love with the Idea of the beach reception ever since I seen a picture on here of what it looks like. Honestly...Even though I know it may not happen..I can't stop thinking of it. I still have lots to figure out.

And it does suck about the mic thing!! Hmmm..I will have to figure something out there.

Thanks Ladies!!

i don't know about the photographer ... i'm so torn because i know i could take photos like his and make them wonderful with photoshop ... on the other hand, i guess i'd be willing to pay to not have to do that work. the bottom line is that the setting is beautiful so it's really difficult to take a "bad" picture. so far his are just "ok" to me tho. i'm not sure "ok" cuts it.

edited to add that i just emailed claudia rodriguez to see whether she or someone from her team would even be available. my decision could be made for me, ya know?

I saw someones pictures on here that were GORGEOUS...Her Screen name is similar to mine, it's Philly_Bride and I gotta tell you, Heres are really the nices pictures I have seen. I e-mailed her to ask who she used. I will give you ladies that info when I hear from her.
If I use DC photog..then I will just prepare myself to do lots of work and photshop after. Your right, You really can't take a "bad" picture...It's sucha pretty place...So if worse comes to worse...I will use him too!!

I can't wait until the holidays are opver because then the countdown is really on for our weddings!! :-) Even with all the planning & stress I am so excited!!

For those of you who recommend the Bose system for the reception, who did you have do the "M.C.?" Who announced the wedding party upon their arrival to the reception? How did you decide when it was time to dance? Did the bride and groom have to monitor the radio all night to make sure certain songs were playing at certain times? Gaby told me that for 3 hours of reception, if you hire a DJ, it would cost $924 bucks!!! WOW!!! Thats a lot of money. I'd be willing to pay that as long as I had peace of mind that every part of the music at the reception would be perfect. On the other hand, as I mentioned, THATS A LOT OF MONEY!!! What do you all think?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
