I just received an email from the WC at Dreams Tulum, apparently they are relocating new arrivals until October 31st to the Dreams Cancun and Dreams Riviera Maya properties. As of now they do not have instructions to relocate weddings for November, except those arriving at the end of October.

My FI and I arrive on November 2nd, I am crossing my fingers and pray pray praying that it will turn out the way we want it too. In the meantime, for those DT brides affected by the change over, I hope the other resorts exceed your expectations and I am sure you will have a beautiful wedding regardless. I keep telling myself, there will still be a beach and most iimportantly, I am marrying the man of my dreams. That puts everything into perspective! Hang in there, ladies.

I think the email was sent out only to the November brides. Parts of me thinks I should be thankful I finally got word from them about the situation but the other half feels I SHOULDN'T EVEN HAVE TO BE IN THIS SITUATION!!! I sent Sandra my list of guests (65ish) and it includes kids. I JUST REALLY HOPE THEY DON'T SEND US TO DREAMS CANCUN OR THE BARCELO MAYA. What a horrible way to start the weekend.

I am leaving on the 1st, but I am going to make a trip to Tulum anyway. I am going to see that place no matter what happens.

I have my bachelorette party tomorrow. I don't know how I will keep this from all the girls!

I had by Bach Party last weekend...I told them. It was uncomfortable not to, like I was lying to them. Not to say that if you choose not to tell them you are lying but you know what I mean.

I know that the wedding is going to be fun in DC anyway but Can'tWait is right...it sucks to be in this situation. Where is our ceremony going to be...are they going to put us in a corner somewhere...tell the other brides to make room in the back for me...

Sigh......

Just wanted to post this - my mom found it on the Dreams Tulum website, looks like they are finally acknowledging to the public that something is going on, even though they won't mention what it is...

Dreams Tulum Announcement

As many of you may know, Dreams Tulum is not accepting arrivals at the moment. Along with 15 other hotels and resorts in the Tulum area, the authorities have applied restrictions on some areas of the resort that prohibit us from offering a superior vacation experience as would be expected at a Dreams Resort & Spa.

We are not at liberty to comment since our legal counsel is actively pursuing a solution, however as of now, do not have an exact date when this will happen. We are determined to ensure all guests have an enjoyable holiday experience and have made the decision to protect and move all new arrivals straight through the end of this month.

The resort team is doing everything possible to contact all passengers, their travel agents and tour operator partners to inform them of this situation, as well as provide protection at other Dreams or Secrets Resorts & Spas in the region for all guests arriving in October.

We fully appreciate and realize the challenges this poses to all those affected and will do everything we can to resolve this matter as quickly as possible.

Thank you very much for your understanding.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
